I use Cedarcide for Pest Control.

They also have excellent safe products for your pets.

I also use straight Vinegar for weed control, however... that will kill everything so watch out what you spray. Vinegar also will wipe out the pests, it's just that the cedarcide smells better ! But expensive, I think my first purchase, will be my last purchase :142smilie

On the shredded newspaper, I found out NOT to use any paper with colored ink because of the heavy metals in the ink. Some are alcohol based and those are ok.

I found this site: Composting for the Homeowner

I found out, the hard way,,, Palm Fronds take FOREVER to break down !

My gardening hours are limited to the wee early morning hours and if I'm lucky a couple hours after 7 pm, but it's still over 100 degrees !

I thought ink was made from soy? Would love to see some info you have on that. Glossy ads I could see in a mag but we use newspaper.

As for your weather- fuck that!!

I read it some where, one of the many places I look at, or that catches my eye.

I don't use full color adds like the grocery adds, but the ones with a little color I will use.

The colored paper I will make fire starter logs with the newspaper, water, and dried leaves.

Harvesting time has begun...we have already pulled over 100 pounds of vegetables from the garden, and this is a fraction of what we will get. Yesterday we picked a 4 pound zucchini, right about at the point where I have run out of creativity in regards to summer squash...

Chad told me there were some tomatoes ready, so I went out to pick some this afternoon. I had joked with him awhile ago that we should market our pizza sauce, and now I am afraid we might have to, because I have never seen tomato plants so huge. Based on what I have picked already and what is remaining, I am guessing that we are going to have about 1000 pounds of tomatoes...

Yea, I need to get some from Lawrence and try his. I am going to do 4 or 5 different flavors (depending on amount of cukes), and then we will send you the best ones. They need to sit for a little while for optimum flavor anyway.

Flipping the onion and cabbage beds now for some delicious fall stuff. Lettuce, Kale, peas, etc!

Just about every meal Jes makes now has 3 or 4 things from the garden. She made an amazing Zuchini salsa. I use it on my farm fresh eggs in the morning. The dinners she makes are better than anything you could go and buy. The fact that we grew most of it ourselves is really rewarding.

Looks awesome! Very fortunate here in ATL to have great Farmers Markets to buy the stuff you grow. Fresh is worth it.

BTW, where are you guys storing the 25 lbs. of Milky Way bars that came out of the onion box??
