Wow thanks again everyone...

Wow thanks again everyone...

Words can not describe how much I appreciate all the support from everyone. It really means a lot to me and my family. 160 hits to the website yesterday, 400 today, people spreading the word, and volunteering to get tested means a lot to me and it's giving me some hope and faith. I haven't had much of that this past month or two because I've spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital seeing my PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) progress. It's really nice to have so many great people at Madjacks.

I'm a little groggy right now just getting home from a dialysis treatment so I'll post again tomorrow and try to answer specific questions. Thanks again, the people at Madjacks are the best.

One question that I have is that in that flyer you kinda make it sound like even if you do get the kidney that you are still not likely to get healthy...is that the case? I thought generally if you get a new kidney & the body accepts it you are in pretty good shape.

My Doctor's say most of the time the new kidney agrees with your body and you'll be okay if you take care of it and take your meds regularly. I just asked him about this the other day in dialysis and he said the best option is to get a kidney transplant.

Here is some more info on getting more info sent to you about the kidney transplant process or getting tested. I'm multi-listed at 2 different hospitals, Georgetown University and University at Maryland. I know Jack already listed this (Thanks), but I need to do some more work on my website (listing both hospitals and contact info) and haven't been able to lately.

Here is how to find out more info from either hospital. If you want to find out if you have Type A or O blood please call Ann King, Clinical Transplant Coordinator, 410-328-2995 at the University of Maryland Transplant Center or you can call Charlotte Nicholson Clinical Transplant Coordinator, 202-444-7287 at the Georgetown Hospital Transplant Center in DC. We will not know you called. You can change your mind anytime. The Transplant Center does tests to protect you. You must be between the ages of 21 and 60, be healthy not have hypertension and be normal weight. You won't be allowed to donate if it is not safe for you. My insurance will cover all medical costs for testing and the transplant and I can cover any other costs including airfare, time you take off from work and lost wages, etc.

Fantastic site dawgball, I'm going to use it. Thanks again for all of the support everyone!!

Vegas Baby !!
My wife donated a kidney to a co-workers son in July '06.

Bounced back rather quickly. Had it done at the Cleveland Clinic.

Before surgery day, she had never met the man. There are good people out there !

Praying for the best for you !

OK here is what I have been working on for
about a week now.

After about 15 phone calls to Dallas Cowboys
HeadQuarters, I got someone to tell me what
Jerry Jones personal email was.

I have a talant on the phone of getting people to tell me things.

Everyone I talked to I would call back the next day and tell them that someone in the organization asked me to call. I went up the Jacobs ladder, I think they call it.

So I got Jones personal email address. I sent him information about Jon and his struggle.

I sent him the website.

I told him that Jon was a Dallas Cowboy fan. I mean a fan that believes in that team no matter what. A real love for the team. Someone that was there when you needed support.

And if now, in his time of need maybe he could consider returning something to a fan that cares.

So if it's not asking too much, would it be too much to ask for a Official autographed Dallas helmet, a visit by team players or maybe a kidney.

I am now trying to call Brett Favre. Does anyone have his home number ? It would make it alot easier for me.

Jon,

In my walk with the Lord, I've fouind much comfort in this scripture. I hope you find the same.

Proverbs 3 :5-6 ~ "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Our prayers are with you.
