A year and a half ago 4 of our company service vehicles had their catalytic converters stolen. The metals in there platinum, rhodium and palladium are, or were, worth a lot. Everything gets parked inside the bays now.
The laws may vary from state to state, but I can say with near certainty that this is not true in the state of Washington. A family friend of mine had this happen to them (not the exact same scenario you spelled out, but almost) and they were not held liable at all.
I understand your point Matt and agree with you as previously--and you were certainly not one I would consider of being a sympathizer of the criminal or dead beat element --FWIW
Wayne,
You're bobbing and weaving all over the place. Nobody is 'sympathizing' with the thieves. It's pretty simple, really. If you have a gun, try to be a little bit responsible.
Come on , Matt:
"They stole my gun? How is that my fault?"
Fucking sympathizers.......
Nobody in here has sided with the thieves, yet Wayne sees anyone who thinks his actions were irresponsble as being against him, and for the thieves.
That is some seriously fucked up logic.
It's actually very ironic. He sounds just like a criminal would!
"I had no hand in this!!!!!!"
We can argue the chicken and the egg all day long.
I'm still waiting on that answer as to why a gun is left in the car?????
Come on what? (maybe you were being sarcastic)
I've agreed with you in every aspect of this situation.
And yes, particularly from dickinjax, i'd be interested in the answer as to why there needs to be 2 guns the car parked overnight. And even after, the guns stay.

I would not be calling anyone anything if I were you except maybe across a keyboard.
From the big internet tough guy who needs, not one. . . but two pistols to get to and fro from work.

wow you see a lot of guys who leave pistols in their car overnight have some defensive attitudes in my book. I don't know what your pasts are.. Maybe you have had some bad experiences. I will say that I know people who always carry a gun.. These people have these fantasies of people trying to kill them and how they willl be able to defend themselves.. Or they think they will be the "hero" to come into action if need be. No offense but they dream more of being a "movie hero" than being in the realm of reality.
I just hope "one of us" is around when you/your family need us.
no offense taken--being a vet with over 50 combat assualts I like to hear the rambling from the other side.
--and the realm of reality is--if situation occurs I won't be pissing in my pants and watching the fear/hopelessness in my families eyes because I didn't do all I could to keep them safe.
Sorry not much of choice for me--but to each their own. I just hope "one of us" is around when you/your family need us.
