RT72,

I'm curous about something. Obviously you're a big Alabama fan, but it says you live in Indiana. Did you grow up in Alabama or did you just follow the football team?

The reason I ask is that I was out in Raleigh and I met a guy from Charlotte who has lived there his whole life, but who is a big Alabama fan (he hates Fullmer and the Vols, too :D). Until then I never really realized that Alabama has out-of-state appeal, but he was telling me that they have fans all over the place.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. My father was raised in Huntsville, Alabama and I had family there for many years. You would be surprised where Alabama fans pop up. I live in a community east of Indianapolis (small town called Greenfield) and I know of a dozen Alabama grads that live here. I was active in the Alabama Fan Club up until a few years ago... had almost 150 members in the Indianapolis area.

Well, in some ways it's an honor to be the most hated college football program in the country, because that usually also means you're the best (See also: Yankees, Duke, Manchester United, etc.).

One of the dumbest statements I've heard. Ben, you know better than that??????????

USC loses and I've never been so happy about a team losing (when i don't give a shit about either team normally) EVER!

LMAO!!!

same goes with a lot of people around here.

i wonder why ;)
As an impartial observer I can tell you why...
Jealousy:s5: Look at all these haters come in after watching from the sidelines all season long just waiting for a USC hickup. Its amazing how everyone is just ready to jump in with the hate but its sad thats the best you could do after probably preparing for this all year long.

it will be Florida the gambling gods never want an even bet game for the championship. Then they will find a way to screw Ohio State just like when They found a way to screw Miami of Fla when they were heavy favorites over Ohio State. Pay Back is a bitch. Gambling gods don't want two evenly match teams. This causes evenly bet games. Just my opinion. By the way Florida stinks. There are only four real teams in CFB and they are MIch Ohio State, Louisville and USC. Unfortunately USC got caught up in the gambling gods numbers game. Louisville would give Ohio State a much better game than Florida. In and honest world that is. But than again they both (louie and Florida)have bad coaches.

The biggest problem I have with Nebraska's teams of that era is that they played soft schedules. Love 'em or hate 'em, USC goes out of their way to schedule big non-conference games every year.

The 1995 Huskers played four games against teams in the top 10, and won by an average of 49-18 (according to wiki). Of course, this is the best college football team of all time, but still....

For most people on here, I don't think it's a hatred of USC as much as it is for a certain supporter of USC that posts on here from time to time. I have the utmost respect for Pete Carroll and what he has accomplished.

I was starting to think I was the only one who thinks this way.

Nick, It's not USC that we all hate, it's Scotty4USC that we hate, so we root against USC by default.

Two years ago a typical thread around here went like this:

Original Poster: What do you guys think about PSU against OSU?

Scott4USC reply: I'll tell you about PSU/OSU, all that matters is USC would kill either of them, blah, blah, blah.....

After hundreds of threads like this you kinda get board with it.

PC is still undefeated in NOVEMBER!

When your team is on top, and you predicted this success, and you profited greatly from it, OF COURSE YOU WILL BE HATED!

There is a word to describe it.....JEALOUSY! :nono:

Another very telling thread.

Wouldn't want the facts to get in the way of one's arrogant version of history.

dumbass

I'll laugh my ass off if Pete bolts for the pros from that "WORLD CLASS" program.

If PC leaves, USC's dynasty might be over. :sadwave:

As long as PC stays, USC will continue to be on top of college football and win another 55 of their next 59 games playing tougher schedules than most! I'll take that!

2nd, PC isn't going anywhere. Many feel he is here to stay for the long haul and go down as the greatest coach ever in CFB history. This was prob. his last major rebuilding year at USC and he was 1 game short of going to the BCS NC game.

I would think the more dominating college programs are bigger than one man.

By this definition of rebuilding ghere ar eabout 106 Division 1 teams rebuilding. One of those strange things about college football.....players actually have to leave and get replaced by new players. OSU lost 10 defensive starters from last year...I guess Tressel is a better rebuilder...

Nope. PC leaves, bye bye USC dynasty. PC has USC set up to dominate for long time with his recruiting effforts.

You have no idea how young this USC team was this season on both sides of the ball. Everyone is back next year, and 2nd and 3rd stringers @USC will all be 4star and 5-star recruits. This is not heard of at any college in the country.

USC will have twice as many 5-star players on the roster than Texas, Ohio St., FL, ND, OU or any of the other top programs in the country.

:scared :scared :scared

So why would PC leave what he has built? He is a relentless recruiter and he has dominated college football with less talent than he will have now at his disposal. NOW HE HAS MORE TALENT TO WORK WITH! Next year is the beginning. That is why PC has been saying "USC is just getting started!"

I told everyone PC's ultimate goal is to have the #1 offense and the #1 defense in the country and to practice against each other every day. He is coming oh so close. Next year USC will have the #1 D and def. a top 15 offense.

The new CFB rule of players having to stay at USC for 3 years is what will make USC dominate every season from here on out. PC plays freshman and wins. That means USC gets all these 5-star players for guaranteed 3 years. Think about it. :scared

After year 1 of PC, I told everyone USC was building dynasty after 6-6 season. I was laughed at. I am just preaching what USC coaching staff thinks and feels what they are building. You will see! USC is on a run that will not be matched in CFB history! (as long as PC stays and he aint leaving what he has built) *I take that last sentence back. IN MODERN HISTORY!

No, if you go about it the right way you wouldn't be.

If you have not figured it out by now, I am not here to make friends. I don't care if you like me or hate me. I like to voice my opinion and read everyones take on things. If a poster attempts to debate me, they better bring some ammo to support their argument. I get a joy out of winning arguments and posters replies humor me. Otherwise, I would stop posting if I didn't enjoy it.

I also find it humorous logging onto MJ's after a USC loss (not very often ;)) and seeing everyones replies. It reminds me why USC is the premier program in the country.

Don't forget, PC is still undefeated in November! ;)

kc,

Good to see you posting in here. Hope all is well with you. I stand by that statement that USC is the best college football program around. Obviously I'm biased, but we certainly have a good argument.

Jack,

I think any posts concerning USC football should be relegated to the politics and religion forum. In fact, let's just change the name of the forum altogether. Politics, Religion & USC Football. What do you say?

As for the rest of you knuckleheads (you know who you are), I'd expect nothing less than what I'm seeing in this thread.
