Brief recap:
I was pulled over for DUI Tues 1-22
I blew a.09 (.07 legal, .08 officers choice, .09 guilty)
Paid my bond and got out and called a lawyer (upwards of 3K)
Taoist and Ronnie volunteered to help

I took Taoist?s advice and called a colleague of his (lawyer) he assured me that he could get the charge reduced to reckless driving. Not only will he reduce the charge to reckless driving but he is charging me HALF THE PRICE of my now former attorney because Taoist put in a good word for me.

Ronnie also gave some good advice and helped me in the process.

:mj05: Two outstanding Madjackers. :mj05:

I?ll update after the official court date.

Thanks Guys, I owe you several beers?..and a cab ride home. :toast:

I know this won't be the popular thing to post but, here goes anyway.

Yah should be responsible for your crime. What gives yah the right to get off??? What gives the attorneys a right to reduce the charges??? WTF??? This sucks on any attorneys part!!! Yah admit yah were drunk, pay up. I lost my mother and one of my brothers in a horrible accident, because of a drunk driver. You're lucky yah didn't kill someone who was minding their business!!! Yha need to learn NOT to drink and drive dude.

I totally agree- what a feel-good story about a drunk getting off a DUI. And assisted by someone looking for sympathy a week ago. How does one pay back those well-wishes? by helping someone get off a drunk-driving charge? wtg, Toast

Take your medicine and be glad you didn't kill someone.

This won't be popular I suspect, but WTF??!!?

First of all, KMA, I am sorry for your loss.... I only wish that those things didn't happen in this world.... However, your post tells me that you may be very knowledgable about computers, you know very little about the legal system...or what attorneys do for that matter. Contrary to popular opinion, it is NOT illegal to drink and drive...only to drive after drinking more than the state prescribed legal limit....

...and as for the Alaskan, ...back in your igloo, biatch!

...over the time I've been here....

I've learned not to share too much personal information on a message board, but I would really appreciate any thoughts and prayers directed my way for the next few days. Thanks in advance.

BTW- I help drunks get off DUI's

Regards,

KMA- I am going to assume things will be better in the morning.

I am sorry for your loss.

I do not feel guilty for blowing a .09 (.01 over the limit). .09 was a legal amount a couple of years ago.

FYI: Tennessee DUI Penalties (First Offense):
48hrs to one year in jail
Probation period of 12 months
Fine ? $350-$1,500
DUI assessment $100
DUI School + cost to get license
Community Service (optional)
License Revoked for 1 year

I have never been arrested for anything in my life. I do not feel guilty nor do I feel that I am "cheating" a system. I am simply a law abiding citizen that fell into a technicality. I was not impaired past operating a vehicle and I do not deserve the penalty above. Again, I am sorry for your loss but it is not I, nor people like me that created your pain. Lawyers are put in place to humanize the law and justify unjust situations like mine. They are also there to punish the individual who caused your grief.

Good Luck KMA, I hope you have a better tomorrow.

S-love,

I take offense to you calling me a drunk.

I have never addressed you before because your childish babbling banter has always been directed elsewhere. Today, you have offended me. Today, you have mocked someone else on this forum that has helped another without asking for repayment. Today, you have fueled someone else's pain by pouring salt in thier wounds. Today, you have crossed the line.

I ask you kindly. Please apologize.

When I fax this thread as well your other "I swear" thread to the Nashville DA's office, you can boast about your technicality to the Judge.

I have posted the facts of the case. Other than the questionable subject line, which was posted in jest, all accounts of that night would point me to a plea. Do me a favor, please forward all my information to a judge. I would appericate it. It would save me some lawyer fees.

I have NEVER boasted about a technically. I am only charged by a technically.

I ask you for a second time. Please rethink your confortational ways and apologize for defaming my good name.

He blew a .09, he said himself, .09 is guilty. Taoist??? Yah know if I came to your office and said a guy hit and killed my mother and brother and he blew a .09 on his roadside, would yah take me case and try to sue his ass off??? He was driving a lethal weapon while intoxicated. At the very least, he should have to pay community service with emphasis on caring for those who have suffered permanent damage from drinking and driving. He should have to volunteer with MADD and view the graphic films of others who have acted so irresponsibly. It doesn't even sound like he learned form the experience, trying to buy his way out of situation that could have turned deadly for anybody. Is he humiliated at all??? Does he feel bad??? Does he even know what he could have done??? It's not a personal thing, I would feel the same way about anybody pulling this.

I hope what happened to my mother and brother never happens to you.

I hope someone who cares for you, never forgets.

10 beers in 5 hours- that'll get you some AA as well if you're lucky.

You're in denial- you need to own up to your actions and get yourself some help with your alcohol addiction.

"Blood alcohol concentration is a measure of how much alcohol is in someone's blood. It is the most accurate and measurable gauge of alcohol impairment. When a person reaches .08 BAC, it should be illegal for him or her to drive a vehicle. To reach a .08 BAC level, a 170-pound man would have to drink approximately four drinks in one hour on an empty stomach or a 137-pound woman would have to drink approximately three drinks in one hour on an empty stomach. This is not social drinking. When drivers reach .08 BAC, their critical driving skills, like judging distance and speed, steering, visual tracking, concentration, braking, and staying in driving lanes are severely impaired. (Moskowitz, 2000) At a .08 BAC level, a person is 11 times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than someone who has had nothing to drink. (Zador, 2000) (Keall et al, 2004)"

Do you even play poker?

Have you ever left the house to socialize?

10 beers in 5 hours should be less than .09. Look up any chart on the Internet and it will show you that a beer per hour is .02-.03 BAL. I was attempting to be legal. I was attempting to follow the law. That is why I am happy with my standing.

Please look it up.

Forward it to every judge in Tennessee and they will attest.

2 beers an hour should be below the limit and legal to drive.

Thank you for proving my point that I am a law abiding citizen.

I will accept your apology now.

I need to get this to my lawyer. The levels must be wrong on the machine. I should not plea down I am innocent. I didn't have close to that amount.

Thanks KMA!! :mj05:
