Scooter eat what you want tell to med you up to counter your problem. I had a stent put in 13 years a go. Here's what I'm on crestor, atenolol, altace, aspirin, fish oil, nexium & when I move to Kansas they added clarinex :mj07:

I left KS (years ago) & only have a one a day for seniors & a vitamin C...:mj07: ...if I remember to take 'em.

Scott, I have been on two kinds of blood pressure meds and a cholesterol med for a LONG time now and I am younger than you. My blood pressure used to be 190/110 and cholesterol was 492. With better diet and the meds everything is under control.

I also like to eat bison and beefalo

There is a farm 30 minutes from me where I pick up filets, strips and ribeyes about 3 times a year. The health difference in fat content is amazing and the flavor is awesome:00hour

Will find their website and shoot it to you, could not find it tonight but will call them for you.

OK wife is sleep now I think.

Just had five small pieces of Italian five grain wheat bread. I know I cant have butter so I put low fat thousand island dressing on it.

For my late night snack I got low fat sugar free ice cream from baskin robbins. Going to have a organic banana and unsalted walnuts.

I dont think this is outside what I am supposed to eat. No way I go and ask the wife.

I think I am in denial .

i was looking through some workout/health information on my cableguide grid, and i came across a suggestion for an evening snack...

i`ve never eaten those string cheese jobbies before....i like cheese, unfortunately, but one of these "50% less fat"mozzarella string cheese jobbies is only around a gram of saturated fat(2.5 total) and if you have one with about 5 wholewheat-lowfat triscuits it`s pretty responsible snacking...better than whacking some chips or ice cream or soda...

very satisfying and verrry tasty...and it`s actually good with a coors light..
i guess it depends how strict you have to be....i know for me,if what i eat doesn`t satisfy me,i`ve got a problem...

thats alot of med.

So even if you get it under control you have to take this for the rest of your days ?

The guy I met at the park told me he took 13 pills every night. He was close to having Type 1

He was overweight and hadnt followed the plan lately he said.

sounds like you are in denial

take the medicine and quit whining

this country is full of whiners, I believe Phil Gramm is on to something

seriously take the medicine and you will be okay I know at first it is hard to listen to the doctor, but he is right and if you follow the diet your health will improve...

good luck

Yeh its not the denial that I wont be able to accept so much as a doctor or anyone telling me what I have to do and when I have to do it.

Scott I think you will be surprised with how well you will be able to handle the changes. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you didn't know, but not only is it a change in diet but in your mindset. I used to eat like shit really and forced myself to eat healthier. It took some work and I failed a lot of times but in the end I couldn't imagine ever going back. So it's not just a food thing but it's a mind thing and a way of life.

Meds are always going to be there but they aren't the magic bullet. Make the changes today and you will be happy in the end. Be hardcore now and stick it out and then after your mind and body adjust you can throw in the occasional snacks. I think it's all about a happy medium, and it is there for you. I think the thing I had to realize was that eating healthy didn't mean I had to take away the things I enjoy in life. It just meant I couldn't have them with reckless abandon. Believe it or not but eating healthy all week and doing some physical activity made that steak and beer on saturday night taste better than it did before.

Good luck and keep at it you can do it!

where's that fat lazy wellfare bitch thread at, it
should lighten your day Scott, I'm a half glass full
kind of guy. You really don't have a problem, you
just have a few adjustments to make, and you
will. Once you figure out the options aren't that
bad, you'll be fine. Except for that Bulldog NC
thing you got going. I'd go to plan B. :SIB

I feel like that Luke character in Cool Hand Luke.

The boss was telling him to get his mind right, and he ends up eating 50 eggs , and running away from his problems as fast as he could. Come to think of it , that killed him in the end.

Get my mind right, get my mind right.
