scooter if you got any heart related stuff you what a 2nd opinion on my next door neighbor is a cardiologist.
.........................................................

thankfully no heart problems. They did a scan and EKG and a bunch of tests.

I knew I shouldnt have gone. I waited a long time. And we dont have insurance right now,
so it sucks twice as hard.

As for exercise, I know I got to figure that one out. I was running my dog at a school field I take her to. So I decide to just go ahead and see if I can run fast for 50 yards. I had my work boots on. I start going pretty good, then my knee started hurting and I twisted my ankle.

I played so much basketball up until about 46 yrs that I may have compromised my knees. I think I could easily blow one out if I am not carefull.

Maybe a treadmill is a idea though.

I'll tell you what Scott use the elliptical. You will feel like a major fag at first but it's a good cardio workout and little to no stress on your joints. I felt like a homo doing it but I got hooked. When I was out of shape I could barely run 15 minutes but could knock 45 minutes out on the elliptical. Research has shown it's just as good as running as far as burning calories and getting the heart rate up.

Scott, I grill out almost every other night, and I
grill probably 60 % fish, mainly salmon. Try it, you
and your body and taste buds will like it.

Becareful grilling this much, Oncologist said too much of this or too much BURNT(my well done) foods and intestinal or gastric problems will be in the making. I use to LOVE a BURNT STEAK, since I've heard from this Doc saying these things I TOTALLY left redmeat alone, cant eat it if its not well done-BURNT, in the same breath I also quit the funny cigs...last thing I want is to suffer later from something I knew was wrong now because it felt good or taste good(6 months since I had a good laugh:mj07: )......now I am full of green salads(how gay its gotten is that I pour my dressing, very small amount, in a small tea cup or paper cup and dip my salad into the cup for the dressing in order to cutdown on the intake of calories) thisis choosen diet as opposed to needed, I also only eat Salmon,Talapia, chicken, turkey, tuna fish, and occassionally pork....mostly chicken quesadillas, seafood, and turkey wings fill my week up.......Scott if you need to make a change do it, including those coffin nails, probably most importantly, dont wait until its too late and now you're putting yourself in danger.....discipline sucks but if we dont do it ourselves we need someone to do it for us, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.......take care of what you've got as some people would love to have a fighters chance at combatting there health problem(s) but in essence they never had or did get that chance!! Best of Luck buddy dont think of it as a negative change because you are losing things you like, look at it as if you are eating healthier to give yourself a chance for a lengthier and easier way of life.
Blood wash and dialysis:nono: Thoughts go out to ANYONE in ANY of these situation and with health problems, KEEP YOUR HEADS UP FELLAS!!

not sexist, Scott; I have a woman doctor and dentist myself, and both are hot as chit! :SIB

on the Metformin; lots of side effects with that, it's expensive, and it's pretty darn aggressive. I thought you said pre-diabetes?

Also, none of the 3 meds you listed are for hypertension.

Yeh I got woman for dentist and md. The md doc is pretty hot. The dentist is older and if you look at her too much , she gives you a root canal.

Cant wait for the bunner test for prostate coming up.

I thought she said pre diabetes too. I looked it up and it says it also lower LDL levels.

They gave me a sugar test thing too. It was blood work and I had to wait 2 hrs and take another blood sample.

I am not taking any of this medicine yet. 3 weeks. My wife is going to go Thursday and ask her wtf .

aren't you self-employed?

.............................................................

Yeh business is slow right now and I layed off half my people. Alot of outside commercial work now, but residential is dry. Unable to afford company health insurance and that sucks.

Commercial work is much more competitive.

I have things on the side I do with other owners that keeps us busy. We've been installing guardrails on commercial properties etc.

Times are tough out there.

but you can get a company group policy as long as you have 2 employees counting yourself and get health insurance without pre-existing conditions being a clause.

I wonder how much food intake really comes into play vs genetics. My grandparents all farmers ate tons of red meat even made their own real butter--breakfast there always eggs and bacon or pork--all lived past 95 except one grandfather who died from farming accident in 80's.

My parents same eating habits--in mid 80's and neither take prescription drug.

High blood meds will affect your sex drive and you will hate it.........lose weight, cardio exercise 4 times a week at your optimal heart rate.

yep, that's why so many guys won't take them. I've never been in that situation, but it would sure make you think twice!
