That post doesn't even make sense, but then again neither does "the force" or Carrie Fisher so carry on.

Hope that helps,

"There may be some small fraternity of true believers who still need the master-narrative of the heroic cancer survivor-turned-sports superstar and still cling to a conviction that he could have beaten the rap if the world had not conspired against him."

"The most important lesson of the Lance Armstrong story, though, is the hardest to prepare for and guard against: our own gullibility and willing complicity. "

"Like many others, I felt I knew all I needed to about Lance Armstrong long ago. Perhaps it's time to let him keep his Tour titles, and move along. I want clean, dope-free cycle sport now. Scrubbing obsessively at supposed stains of the past is doing nothing for that."

The very same author that you just quoted posted that only a few days ago. You realize of course, or at least I hope, that bloggers are not considered an authority on anything or even an expert? You know that this guy lives in New York and has been fired from three different sports reporting agencies don't you? Yea, this means about as much as your opinion as it relates to the facts.

Hope that helps,

What the fuck is your problem? Why are you making shit up to discredit someone you have never met? Do you really need to hug Lance's nut that much? For your information, many bloggers are considered experts. The author is an editor at a respected media outlet, and the blog is at that outlet.

I respect Lance for what he did. It takes incredible ability to bounce back from cancer and dominate one of the toughest athletic events in the world for seven years like he did.

His work to raise money for cancer research is even more admirable.

I would respect him a lot more if he would man up and admit he cheated. The sad fact is that cheating by doping is less and less of a disgraceful act with every athlete that gets caught. He should show some backbone and take his medicine if he really wants to move on with his life like he claims.

All the high performers are guilty whether they tested positive or not, right?

Yes, it is one of the most respected media outlets in the world by those who don't see everything though red-tinted glasses. I'm sure you think the New York Times has a bad reputation as well.

The Ny times is an absolute joke of a publication. A bunch of liberal statists. It may as well be printed by the State

That essay is laughable. Comparing drug testing of athletes in professional sports to students in schools? Give me a break.

Hardly the whole point of the article. It's more about what a joke the role of he state has become... In sports and schools.

Jedi,
That is a direct quote from the very same blogger from the very same guardian. All I did was click on the link you posted, read it, laughed a little bit and then stopped, looked to the right of the column and saw the titles of his recent blogs. I saw the one about Lance he posted in July and clicked on it. I then highlighted that quote and pasted it. That is when you accused me of making shit up while you continue to state as fact that he doped when you have zero, zero, zero, did I mention absolutely no proof that he did. Who is making shit up again Jedi?

You have made up your mind, blinded by jealousy I guess I don't know. I am sorry that Jedi's and Peruvians suck at cycling brother, I really am, but that is no reason to go around slandering a champion's accomplishments. I would never go around telling people that Peruvians don't make fantastic cocaine just because I don't have any. Making shit up? Really? Now I am a nut hugger? Give me a break dude, you have no proof, you simply don't like him. We get it, but don't get sideways with me just because you are wrong.
Just because I don't think he doped and think return of the Jedi sucked, doesn't mean that we can't be tighter than two nuts on a squirrel. Just sayin.

Hope that helps,
FDC

One more thing, you said that all those that he competed against were caught doping and he still beat them, therefore, he had to dope. Well wouldn't that mean that he would have beat them even if they didn't dope? Maybe he was just better than them? I mean if they're all doping and he still wins?

Just saying

2 weeks since Lance announced he wouldn't challenge the USADA's charges anymore, the UCI still hasn't received the case file.

You have all this evidence and an alleged concrete case, make photo copies and FedEx the stuff over to Europe. Who is handling this for them, Ryan Braun's urine collector?

Essentially another month has passed and the USADA still hasn't passed on their file on Armstrong. The earlier statements about this turning into a turf war appear to be playing out. The UCI is going to be looking at the file with a skeptical eye, and rightfully so in my opinion, when they finally do get it.

I just read that. While it appears they'll never have the hard evidence it's difficult to buy into 11 people are lying and 1 is telling the truth.

They still have not come out with what they offered those 11 for their testimony.

Fair point but 11 people? No way. Maybe one or two.

Think about how dirty the sport was(/still is), not that tough.

As I said before, the most damning one is Hincapie. However, it comes out now that he has admitted to doping. He has accepted a ban for 6 months during the non-prime months of the sport. If you were still racing and needing to make a living, would you sell out your old pal for a reduced sentence so that you could still compete in the big races next summer?

And another perspective on it, Hincapie received 6 months while Lance was banned for life. Lance isn't racing anymore. Hincapie is still racing. Is the USADA's stance that it wasn't a witch hunt, and it is about cleaning up the sport really holding that much water?
