Thanks Hammer I have done both for over a week now I actually started on CL, I used to use vacation rentals as well back in my bowling days it was nice and cheaper than hotels in some places. Getting excited more than nervous and I know the town pretty well I have been there so much for big bowling events I just have never tried to live there so that's why I asked on here.

We have a nice place east of the strip. It's close to the hospital and convenient to everything we want to do and everywhere we want to go. It's about $1200 a month for everything and all bills. Two br, 2 complete bathrooms, a nice kitchen, and a nice family room. Pool and jacuzzi right outside the door, outdoor grilling area, and a nautilus room. It's not the "best" area of town, but my wife has never been scared, and she loves it. Gated and covered parking too. One of the tenants parks his truck here between runs too.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Holiday Royale starts at 800 and goes to 975 plus extras linens, internet, dishes, etc.....depends what you want Fremont is way cheaper if you want downtown but never been a fan of Fremont

Might try Arizona Charlies on Decatur and Charleston...

10 minutes from downtown, 15 from strip, clean cheap rooms. $25- $35 generally

Excellant restaurant (Rons)

Smokey casino though...

So, it's the end of the month, and I haven't obtained my monthly show/event tickets with my diamond card. We have company coming in town Saturday, so after Brandi and I discussed it, we thought they would probably enjoy Penn & Teller more than anything else. My plan was to get two vouchers Thursday the 31st for March then 2 more for April on Friday the first and redeem them all at the box office for next week. Problem is the guy informs me at the total rewards desk that my freebies for March (specifically for Penn & Teller) have to be used in March. Dang... I ended up just getting 2 High Roller tickets. I think I'll go back later today and get the Penn & Teller tickets for next week, and our company can just use those.

I went to the Harrah's total rewards center since it's the closest and most convenient to my home. I was able to cut a huge line with my diamond card (seems like a dick move, and I always used to hate it before I had one hahaha). This diamond card kicks ass. Last week when I was at Ceasars, I walked in the front from the Bellagio side, and there was a big can line. It was cold that night and windy, and in the line was a mom holding a 3 year old girl. The girl had no jacket and was clutching her mom. I told the mom to follow me. She said why, and I said I'm going to get you a cab faster. I walked to the front of the line where there is a diamond line. I showed my card, and I got a cab for the lady and her cold toddler.

I parked on the roof, and I got a cool picture of the cloudy night and the Luxor light that can be seen.

Six Five can you enlighten me on the comps and how you get them, also your opinions on best poker places, sportsbooks with rewards and I enjoy tournament poker as well. Slots I don't do and rarely play BJ so just those will be great info.

This photo sums up pretty well why i feel like i can't live in the southwest anymore. Every day the same merciless sun. Eyes can't take it anymore. No seasons. Turrible.

Hi Scott, how goes the Royal Flush chase?

I have been to several nearby Oklahoma Indian casino's since my hasty departure, it is HARD to find Vid Poker.

There are now 60+ Indian Casinos in Oklahoma.

I have 8 within a 10-30 mile radius.

Amazing the societal changes here...when I first moved here in 73, you could not legally walk into a bar and buy a drink, unless you brought in your own bottle...

take care of that water....:s1:

Wife's family was here all last week, so I did a lot of babysitting for my 10 month old nephew while they all hit the town and did the LV touristy stuff. Fine with me, and I enjoyed being around a baby that much, feeling that soft bald head, listening to the chatter, feeding him, just everything. It brought back many memories for me, and I'm thankful for the experience and for my own children.

Friday night, I booked a room at the Rio for us. After they got in at midnight from doing the town, I took my sister-in-law down to the casino. We played some slots, and I showed her roulette, BJ, and craps. We also three in some 3-card poker which of course is a terrible game. Lost $100 exactly.

After she went back up to the room, I went to the poker room and got in the 1/3 NLHE game. I played for 6 hours with a session high of $250 positive, a session low of $100 negative and ending stack of down $30. I was card dead the whole night, and I never hit a set. I lost a big $300 pot near the end when my two black kings which I raised preflop to $25 ran into a flopped set of 5s on a 5J8 rainbow board

When I was finished, we got ready to leave. We ate (and waited out a hailstorm and flash flooding) then went to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign for a photo op and then to the airport. The problem was the flight became delayed 30 minutes then 3 hours. The airport was packed with groups of three deep waiting at every gate bc all the flights were delayed. There was nowhere to sit, and of course I pulled an all-nighter, so I'm exhausted. I failed to mention that the SWA folks graciously printed my for me and wife gate passes to assist my sister-in-law with the children and boarding. Otherwise, they would have been dropped as usual. I didn't even know that was offered, so if it ever applies to anyone, just ask for it.

Work today thru Tuesday then it's home for almost a week to visit family and to hopefully kill a nice Spring Gobbler. I'll add some pics on Tapatalk.

The baby and I made a trip to Harrah's to get Penn and Teller tix for our guests. Sadly, they were dark that week, so I got them Jeff Civillico tickets. My niece thoroughly enjoyed his comedy and juggling routines, and my wife said he was really good.

Jeff saw me after the show and photo op for my wife and niece. He wanted a picture with me, so I'm a good sport. He asked if he could sign my head. Sure, Jeff, Idc. Maybe I'll be in some of his future advertising material? Jeff told me, "You're a beast of a man". I said thank you to the compliment.

I forgot to write about my Rio check in. I missed the valet line (I had the baby and all the girls' stuff bc I had dropped them off at the AdventureDome), so I showed them my diamond card and they made a spot for me. I requested Bell service too. I checked in at the diamond area, and there was no line. Everything was perfect so far, but I needed change for a bill on my way to the room because I knew I still had to tip the Bellman. The machine near the cage wouldn't take my bill, so I got in line at the cage. When it was my turn, the idiot lady went berserk bc I had a baby. Gaming area, he has to stay off the carpet, bla bla bla. I told her the machine wasn't working and all I needed were smaller bills for tipping. She doesn't care and continues to go off like I was trying to steal the Mona Lisa or something. I called her an idiot and stormed off (that showed her  ). I went to the gift shop and bought a drink so I could get change. Man that lady pissed me off. When common sense goes out the window and we live in a black and white world (at least some people like this lady do), crappy experiences follow.
