On the course!
Agent asked me to describe the "drive" to the golf course. I will do my best, and anyone else can chime in, as needed.

First off, I think the whole state of Indiana is one huge cornfield. I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Hee-Haw was based on this area. As I was driving down Interstate 65, I honestly thought I was going to see a "Kornfield Kounty" sign at any minute.

If Garrison Keillor would have been born in rural Indiana instead of Minnesota, he would not have given us, Lake Wobegon Days, Leaving Home, and We Are Still Married. Instead, he would have shot himself in the fukking face. The only thing he would have had on his side is the fact that he looks like every person you see on a porch or in a yard out there!

Anyway......on to "the drive".

Jack, as I've stated, gives pretty decent directions. They took me along a nice stretch of highway and industry outlining one of the small burghs out his way. When I got to the turn he mentioned, it was a fairly quiet looking piece of road. You wouldn't be corrected in calling it a "back road".

The road was sided with the obligatory fields of maze that I have come to adore out here. Patches of other various crops sprouted up in between patchworks of corn, as well. Houses were sparse, and were themed in what you would best call "Early What the Fukc?" Typical of poorer farming locals, the housing gets the last of the monies. Any money goes into the farm first, and if you are struggling, the house suffers the most. Economic reality in the Heartland, folks. There were plenty of nice looking farms around, don't get me wrong.......but this area wasn't beholden to them.

The drive continued. As you are all aware, there comes a point when you are "following directions", that you are certain the giver of those directions has fuked up. I was now at that point. Having since talked to several others about "the ride", I know this was not a lone sentiment!

It was a bright, sunny day, but I swear to God the corn was getting taller......closer to the road......the houses getting more drab.......and trees began to blot out the sun! I said the I half expected that kid Malachai to come nab my ass! (Goddamn you, Stephen King!)

Well, finally I got to the end of that forsaken road, and there was the golf course! Like a golden piece of corn in a pile of poop! (Look at me, workin' the corn theme right to the bitter end!)

While we were golfing, you could here goats screaming from the houses across the road, too. This shit didn't seem to phase the Tennesse/Kentucky boys in the crowd, but my Northern hide was "skeert" for them critters!

Well, I guess that's about it, unless some of you other folks can add?

i guess it doesn't look like the typical road that leads to a golf course. maybe i should have mentioned that but it looks normal to me ;)

Hey Dunclock

Saw a picture of you and you looked like Daly with that backswing. I'm sure you dumped it out there Far.

Kosar, my man, you realize any and all hope of hearing the end of the pic of you sleeping in Vegas is now gone forever, right?

First chance that i've had more than a little time since I got back, but yes, I realize we took it to a whole new level(or maybe the same level?). That's fine.

Most of this will be repetitive and if I miss anybody, it's certainly not intentional. Just off the top of my head, as they say.

Jack picked me up at the airport on friday early afternoon on friday and as we headed down, on the way to Columbus, we checked in on Agent, HH, yyz, dunclock and rolltide who were playing a course along the way.

We just followed along for a couple hours and had a great time. It was great seeing rolltide, agent, hh, yyz and again and was great meeting dunclock for the first time. Very, very nice guy and his name is NOT Gary.

We all met at a steakhouse around 8 for a great time that night. I didn't fall asleep, for those keeping score at home.

I've already posted about how much fun I had with my team of six-five, dtb and bbc, so that's that.

Great meeting wineguy(chuck) and his girl, Angela. I guess they had some fun on the course also.

Rolltide? Christ! It's been mentioned a million times in this thread, but suffice to say his rolling bar was appreciated by many. I've never met a nicer, more positive guy in my life.

I/O? Love this guy and also his very nice and pretty girlfriend, Maria. I think he *is* intense, but funny as hell and he/they would cheer me on when I canned that 1 foot putt.

Hippo- thanks for the pics. ---most of them anyways. :mj07:

Dunclock, was great meeting you and spending at least some amount of time with you on friday and saturday. Jack said you killed it and you said that you sucked. You're like Wayne. Great players who are too humble. Agent will NEVER have that problem. :nono:

yyz is of course how he posts. I haven't seen him since a SB party maybe 4 or 5 years ago, and it was great to see him again.

BSU Cards and friend(Jason I think-but don't quote me)? Very, very nice people who kicked it off with Jack and I saturday night.

I don't think I got a chance to talk with Boilermaker, Bohawk or Phenom too much, if at all, but i've heard nothing but good things about these guys and that's how it goes during these things.

Handicapper and son- thanks a lot for the shirts. Very, very nice.

Lewehands- thanks for not arresting me for being a derelict.

Gmroz- you were shaping up for being the 'unintentional entertainment' until *I* came along. Thank me later.

Mostly, thanks to my great friend Jackson, his wife Gayle, and his mother Lorraine for an incredible spread and an all around great weekend.

Had a great time! Sorry I missed the cookout. Got showered and dressed and layed down for a quick 30 minute nap then couldn't move because my back hurt so bad. Laid back down, took some meds, and I didn't make it out. Wanted everybody to meet my beautiful wife and socialize an all, but it didn't pan out. A few people, rolltide and dunclock did see my wife, so they can verify I do have one, lol. :mj07:

Thanks Jack for the great time and thanks to the sponsors.

Anyway, even though my teemmate BBC redcarded me the week before, I enjoyed meeting him. Pretty quiet really, and he has some really nice high iron shots. Kosar was a lot of fun but so much more reserved than I ever dreamed he would be. I also hope he's not as fast on the draw in the budoir as he is at the golf course. I've never seen anybody play that fast. He'd do well with those old fartknockers that play the muni here that get their 9 holes finished in an hour. DTB of course I know, and he's always fun to hang out with.

Somehow, I missed out meeting wineguy and phenom. Had some anti-UofL material prepared and everything for Phenom and didn't even talk with him.

Nopepper gave me my sig line, so I enjoyed meeting him.

Shot the doo with gmroz the heathen quite a bit before the first bloody mary, and he's a deep, interesting guy.

yyz, funny, nerdy, and poor vision to think dtb was 6 5, but I'll forgive him this time, lol :142smilie

ROlltide doesn't remember apparently from his post, but we actually met the first night before lewehands arrived, lol, and I watched and learned how to play Chinese poker. Funny dude, and always the life of the party I'm wagering. Thanks for the transportation, and thanks for the Cracker Barrel breakfast!

Agent and hh, lots of fun as well, but I already knew that. I just wish I would have had a room a little further down the hall from them :SIB kurby :142hump: :142smilie

Handicapper and son, thanks a bunch for the shirt. What a cool gesture!! Handicapper, we'll make it for some poker one day soon at Caesars!

Also, I don't think anybody has mentioned what a frikkin' jinx Intense Operator is yet. He rode around in a cart with his lovely companion saying how gay golf was, and everytime he was near us, I duffed a shot. I started calling him a jinx. You could hear him and that yankee mouth 200 yards away too! ;) Glad to meet u though, man!

lewehands was also reserved, but I'm glad he's around to get agent and rolltide out of trouble back home constantly!

dunclock, thanks for the old Titans advice again, and nice meeting you. You were the real ringer of the event I think! Bohawk, nice to meet you as well.

Great event!! Let's hit them at Caesar's (Chariot's Run) soon!!

Had a great time meeting everyone, golfing and hanging out at Jack's house. Great people, great weather, great food, great booze...

The only thing I didn't enjoy was the almost 500 mile trip back home the next day after drinking some more beers back at the hotel until 3 or 4 in the morning...To say the least it was a rough drive home...

My take on everything;

Agent gets a bad rap, he is a really nice guy, him and HH are a great couple, and he is an extremely good golfer.

Lewlhands, thanks for making our score respectable on 18, hell of a putt, great meeting you as well.

Enjoyed sitting and talking with IO, his girl Maria, and YYZ.

Talked with Kosar at the end of the night, not sure if he remembers it or not, as it was a few minutes after he woke up.

Jack, we did talk for a bit towards the end of the night, but you told me you were pretty buzzed, so not sure if you remember that as well.

Rolltide, I enjoyed talking about SEC football with you by the keg while knocking back a few...

Sorry 6-5, that you couldn't push your anti UofL propoganda on me, might have enjoyed it...

almost forgot Handicapper and his son, really glad I got to meet you, gl up in NK, and thanks for the shirt!

Keep forgetting people, Dunclock, thanks for talking to me about publishing, I will get your email from Jack, and GL on the job prospect...

I talked with some other people briefly, wish I had more time. I will definately try and make the next event, really enjoyed it and would recommend anyone try and come to the next one, everyone is really easy to get along with...

As my sister would say, "That's just how I roll." :SIB

It was great to see you again as well Matt. Looking forward to our next meeting! Thanks for being a good sport with the pictures and all. That damn Agent... I tried to keep him from putting that red hat on you! :142smilie :142smilie :142smilie
