got my first car in 1968 before i had a license...was a 1962 ford falcon with the stick on the column...paid $200 for it & the ins. was about $400.....:mj07: everybody who drove with me wound up leaving the car with whip lash...didn't drink beer but remember weed went for $15 an oz....& my friends & i had to beg borrow & steal for those $15...those were the days...:142smilie


yes the were my friend..

those days if somebody said something out of line..or tried to be a tuff guy..

out of the gathering you would hear.

We had 1, yes only 1 phone! Had a 20 foot cord:mj07: Had so many fights with my 2 older Sisters over who would get the phone for the night. If you messed up dialing you had to start over on that rotary fukcer:mj07:


I can see how that could be a problem given the great conversationalist you are.:mj07:

Probably no one here can relate to this, but in
'72 used to go down to Williams Diner off the
Okie State campus and buy lunch for a $1.25,
consisted of an entree (meat, damn good meat)
all the mashed potatoes and gravy you could eat,
(homemade), vegatables, and ice tea you could
drink. This place eventually went OB and a fellow
in my business class by the name of Stan Clark
bought it and turned it into Eskimo Joes. One of
the greatest successful marketing stories ever. In
the eariler days when it was a hippie bar, people
would bring their dogs to the bar. Shootin pool,
drinkin beer, muff city, and pettin the dogs, going
outside to smoke a joint, :00hour
