He's averaging 175 MPG. He does mainly 50 miles a day of city driving. So I guess most of that is done electrically before the gas engine kicks in.

gotta know..
what is a battery operated car like in dead of winter around Det..
ya gotta let it warm up for 60 minutes..
he just texted me this
Warms up good
uses lots of battery power though
Summer 40-45 miles per charge. Winter 20-25.
Would ask how much his utility bill is roughly?
What's the payback/roi on that now that gas is under $3 a gallon. I'm guessing the car won't last long enough to even see the break even point.
I scoffed at this. The first thing a guy of x years of age thinks about is pussy in his car purchase... you're slipping old timer.I don't think anyone looks for a roi when they buy a car.

He means all the extra money spent on the gas saver will never be made up vs a regular car. People who buy those things do it to save money on gas but they spend more on the car than they will save on the gas.
No idea. All I know is he leased it with ZERO out of pocket and $199 a month.
LEASED IT?
That's like getting an ugly hooker.
I read your post as no one thinks of a return of investment "ROI" with a purchase of a car. I was saying certainly most men (ladies man persona) think about using their car to get some action.I have no idea what your talking about, please explain. Besides I only lease. :SIB
ps........remember, the Volt isn't mine.
