Hey Juu

Yeh that picture is kinda gruesome for Alabama fans.

I am feeling good. I am feeling confident about
these plays. Its kinda hard thinking about the possiblity of Brady getting knocked out of the game. If the Giants can get to him I think it would be worth a late hit or a unsportsmanlike penalty.

I think a real key to this game is going to be the Giants running game. The bruiser and the fleet foot. Got to have a guy that can stuff it in the endzone. And then one to change the pace.

Go Giants :00hour

You need to join Britney.............................KOD your not right!

the weather my friend............... the big factor

Prediction:

NYG 24, NE 41

Line: 12

What will be different this game is that the weather is not going to be cold, windy or have rain. All the weather issues are no longer a concern or factor so both teams get to showcase what they can do in weather they have not seen in several months. That has to favor the Patriots passing game

motely

the thing about the weather pardner, is that
NE Patriots dont know how to play when its
balmy and nice out. They only know snow and
freezing wind. Brady may be off with his passes
as he is used to having to account for the wind.

the thing differant about you, is you talk alot more than you used to.

I smell money and it smells green.

The stadium seats 63,400 for Cardinals games, but will provide approximately 10,000 more seats for Super Bowl XLII.

The roof has two large retractable panels that uncover the entire playing field while providing maximum shading for fans. The roof can be closed and the facility air conditioned in the hot months, while the roof can be opened to take advantage of the Valley's world-famous climate in cooler months.

The grass field rolls out of the stadium on an 18.9-million-pound tray, residing outside of the stadium except for football and soccer events. With the field in the outboard position, the 158,000-square-foot floor is unencumbered by the turf and features a built-in utility grid.

The grass field remains outside the stadium in the sun until game day, which allows for the maximum amount of sunshine and nourishment, eliminating humidity problems inside the stadium and providing unrestricted access to the stadium floor for events and staging.

Completed in the fall of 2006 and built specifically to showcase Arizona's next Super Bowl, this $455 million architectural wonder is the most advanced sporting facility in the world. The facility has been voted "Best NFL Facility" by Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily. The stadium has also been named one of the Top 10 stadiums in the world by Business Week.

1. Eli Manning has to continue his mistake-free playoff run

The single most surprising part of this NFL postseason has been the way Manning, the Giants' fourth-year quarterback, has avoided mistakes. After a regular season in which he threw 20 interceptions in 16 games, Manning has zero interceptions in three playoff games. Manning is making wise decisions ? including throwing the ball away and taking sacks when nothing is open ? in a way that he too often failed to do during the regular season and, for that matter, during his entire NFL career.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick has a reputation as one of the best in the business at devising game plans that force opposing quarterbacks to make mistakes, and the Patriots' defensive players ? especially cornerback Asante Samuel ? will make sure the Super Bowl is Manning's toughest playoff game. But if Manning rises up under pressure, the Giants will be in good shape.

2. The Giants' running game must produce
The first time the Giants played the Patriots, their offensive attack was mostly through the air. New York's running backs gained just 66 yards on 16 carries. That's a bit surprising, considering that the Giants had one of the league's best running games in 2007, and the Patriots' greatest shortcoming was stopping the run.

But the good news for the Giants is they have a weapon at their disposal that they lacked the first time they played the Patriots. Rookie running back Ahmad Bradshaw, a speedy, shifty runner who has been the Giants' leading rusher during the playoffs, was injured and missed the regular-season matchup. A couple of big plays from Bradshaw ? along with some tough runs from starting running back Brandon Jacobs ? could turn the game in the Giants' favor.

3. Hit Tom Brady early and hit him often

During the regular season, the Giants were as good as any team in the league at rushing the passer, and they did it mostly with their defensive linemen, Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and Michael Strahan. In the playoffs, however, the Giants have just three sacks in three games, including one by Strahan and none by Umenyiora or Tuck.

The key to disrupting the Patriots' passing attack will be for the Giants' defensive line to return to its regular-season ways. When Brady has time to sit back, scan the field, and wait for one of his receivers to get open, he's lethal. If the Giants can hit him ? and do so without having to rush so many players that they leave some of the Patriots' receivers open ? that's the best way to stop him.

4. Focus on Randy Moss

The first time these teams played, the Giants had a 28-23 lead in the fourth quarter when Tom Brady dropped back to pass and threw deep along the right sideline for his favorite receiver, Moss. The Giants dodged a bullet when the pass fell incomplete. So on the very next play they did it again ? Brady to Moss deep along the right sideline. This time Moss caught it for a 65-yard touchdown that gave the Patriots a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Breakdowns like that just can't happen in the Super Bowl. The Giants can't let up against Moss and can't let him get deeper than the deepest player in their secondary, even if it means they give up a lot of short passes to other receivers. Yes, the Patriots' first two playoff opponents have kept Moss in check and still lost, but at least they haven't been blown out. The only way the Giants can keep the game close enough to end up on top at the end of the fourth quarter is to keep Moss from turning the game into a shootout.

5. Make plays on special teams

Most of the time, New England's special teams are better than New York's. But special teams are inconsistent. All it takes is one blocked punt, one botched snap, one missed tackle, and the whole game can change. Whether it's the Giants' dynamic young kickoff returner, Domenik Hixon, their veteran punt-return man, R.W. McQuarters, or a player no one is even thinking about blocking a kick, special teams can turn the tide suddenly and unexpectedly.

And if the Giants string together a few of those sudden, unexpected plays, they could pull off the most unexpected of results. The Patriots are, based on everything we know, the better team, and the team more likely to win on Super Bowl Sunday. But just because they should win doesn't mean they will.

If

Clearly, players needed time adjusting from fired defensive coordinator Tim Lewis' system to Spagnuolo's more aggressive approach.

"A year ago, we started with a 3-4 as far as our variations and how we lined up our defensive line," Pierce said. "Now our ends are always on the edge rushing the passer. Our cornerbacks and safeties are pressed up on the line of scrimmage. Our linebackers are playing downhill and more aggressive, and the middle linebacker is allowed to make adjustments and changes.

"(The differences) are night and day."

So was New York's play once the defense embraced Spagnuolo's concepts. The Giants have subsequently allowed only two 300-yard passing games, led the NFL in regular-season sacks (53) and shown marked improvement against the run. New York has held three of its past four opponents to 69 rushing yards or less, including New England (44 yards on 26 carries).

"We never doubted what we were doing," said Spagnuolo, a former Philadelphia assistant who brought the Eagles' blitz-heavy philosophy with him to New York. "We knew it was going to take a little bit of time.

"The assistant coaches did a tremendous job staying loyal to the system. They kept pushing it on the players, who embraced it. The two-way street worked out really well."

Maybe too well. The personable Spagnuolo reportedly is a candidate for Washington's head-coaching vacancy and could interview for the job as early as Monday.

"When you get into this business, you have two dreams," Spagnuolo said. "One is to win a Super Bowl and possibly be a head coach. (The latter) is a dream, but I'm focused on one dream right now."

That means making sure the rematch against New England doesn't become a defensive nightmare.

"We're confident," Umenyiora said. "Nobody is ever going to be able to take that from us because of the things we've accomplished and the obstacles we've overcome to get here."

Together.

Karma will come full circle in this game and Tommy boy will be out before half-time due to a dirty, late, tactically placed arm-bar or knee-twist.

See, the Patriots may have had spy-gate, but NY will have the bigger controversy in the end. A Giants player to be named later is going to take Tom out in the pile, Jeff Gillooly style. Oh yeah baby.

Inside information - the public speaks

Well every year I use my wife to gauge the public
play in the Super Bowl.
She knows just enough about football to make her dangerous. She seldom watchs a game with me, and just hears blurbs on ESPN or on the radio.

She is 0-4 in her Super Bowl picks the last four years.

KOD - Honey do you have a pick for the Super Bowl ?

Wife - when are they playing ?

KOD - Uh they are playing this Sunday.

Wife - Who is playing ?

KOD - So I go into giving her background. The Patriots and Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Past Superbowls, running games, Welker, etc and give her the spread. Spygate, 16-0

As always I break down the Giants and give her the information about them also. Trying to be impartial of course.

Wife - I will take the NE Patriots she says convinceingly.

KOD - OK honey , thanks

Wife - are you betting on this game. ?

KOD - Gulp.....

KOD - yeh just money I won during the season.

Wife - oh ok have fun .

KOD - whew, I was this close to a clean getaway

Your wife is joe q public, I have a friend that called me during the week who bets about 10 games a year wanting to bet on the Patriots -12, so I covered it and bet the other way online in my account. He has not won any of his bets since last year during the playoffs betting Indy over NE.

good luck to you...

Interesting amounts on the plays, Scott. I've taken some action on NE +13 and +12 already.

11' now and a decent middle oppportunity for me but I don't think I will. The moneyline is another story, but you never know. Good luck on it.

Down Goes Bom Trady ! Down Goes
Bom Trady !

..............................................................

Well here it is Super Bowl day. Sunday Feb 3, 2008
Not too much more important in any given year to some people, than that this game is played.

All the hype, past performances, stats , and egos
go out the window now. The question remains what team will step up and show what it takes to be a Super Bowl champion. The best the NFL has to offer. The NE Patriots have had games this year when they did not play well at all. They have had games this year when they were unable to cover the spread. The Giants on the other hand have all their players back and healthy as well. Will Eli Manning revert back to his old ways and not take care of the football ? Will Tom Brady get sacked early and get his leg rolled. So many unknowns still 8 hours before game time.

I still revert back to the fact that Eli and company went into Dallas and beat a team that was destined for the playoffs and Super Bowl. And after that they went into Green Bay and made Favre hold his nose with a chemical heating pad during the game. I do not believe that NE could have won them two games. I believe that the two teams NE beat , Jags and Chargers, were not anywhere near as good as Dallas and Green Bay.

Well the wagers are made, the money is down, the only thing left to do is sit back, strap yourself in , and enjoy the ride.

I would love to get some NE plus 13, or even 12.

Even the KOD wouldnt buy 25 points, or would he?

Scott, thanks for sleeping in today. You just won me a hundred bucks on the over 9:08 a.m when you would bump this thread with a picture on SB Sunday.

Now if I can hit this coin toss play.....
