Going to keep a running tally for the playoffs like I did in the NBA last season. I had a nice run in the NBA playoffs making a decent amount taking the Cavs almost every game vs. the Pistons. Hopefully this year's playoffs can produce some nice winnings as well.

Anaheim @ Boston - At first glance, the Red Sox look fairly awesome with their stacked lineup, the Fenway faithful making tons of noise, Lackey's lack of succes vs. Beantown, Beckett's 2-0 career record vs. the Halos, etc. However, this line opened at Boston -145 which sounded correct and has jumped to -160??? Beckett also pitched terrible against Minnesota last Thursday (I watched the game and his stuff wasn't fooling anyone).

Lackey was 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA in his final 3 starts this season. His ERA is lower than Beckett's ERA and Boston really hasn't been that impressive in recent weeks.

Angels +150 for 8*

Just to be the Contrarian, if I wanted to win 12* on Boston, I would need to lay 19.2*:com: However, I get the hotter starting pitcher at this price and I like the value.

Cubs @ Arizona - Another excellent pitching matchup. Webb and Zambrano both have great stuff which is one of the main reasons both teams made the playoffs. However, Big Z hasn't given up an earned run in his last 2 starts and Arizona's storybook season appears to be headed towards a quick ending IMO if they lose this game. Webb has an excellent ERA because his streak of his streak of scoreless innings. However, he's been more than hittable lately. Soriano and Ramirez have been very hot for Chicago as well and I like the Cubs to take game #1 and win this series about 3-1 if this happens.

Cubs +125 for 8*

I'll keep adding to this post during the playoffs.

Yankees @ Cleveland - Going to add this game while the line is still LARGE. Sabathia has terrible numbers vs. the Yankees. However, he hasn't faced the Pinstripes since 2004! Wang has been solid, but his road numbers are nothing special. I have major concerns with Cleveland's bullpen as Borowski is average at best. However, Sabathia is more than capable of pitching the whole game and this line seems to be high to attract even wagering. I'm going with the home dog and a rocking crowd. Wang is more than capable of imploding IMO and Tribe need game #1 or this series might be over.

Tribe +110 for 8*

Hopefully the dogs come out barking this week.

Colorado @ Philly - Tough to not like the Rockies after they just whipped Philly 3 weeks ago and have won 14 of 15... going to ride this train until is goes off the tracks.

Colorado +135 for 8*

Going to count the Rockies win from the other night so my playoff record is
1-0 +10.4* :00hour Very lucky win and hoping for more luck today!

Adding the following to make all 10* plays:
Rockies +140 for 2* - Surprised the line has gone up, but going to add a little more...

Rockies 10* to win 13.6*

Angels +155 for 2* - Adding a little to this play as well... it seems like knowone likes these doggies today.

Angels 10* to win 15.1*

Cubs 10* to win 12.5* - Should be almost as many Cubs fans as D-Backs fans at the game.

Tribe 10* to win 11* - Sabathia has way too much value to pass at this price tag.

I need at least a split, but 3-1 is my goal playing the Underdogs.

2-0 +24* to start the playoffs.

I could have got Colorado +150 about 30 minutes before 1st pitch, but they went back to +135 by gametime... late money pounded Colorado. I cost myself 1.4* by not placing my wager at the right time.

Late money is absolutely pounding Boston. One of my books opened with Boston -145 and they're currently -183??? Wow! I know Lackey has bad numbers vs. Boston, but this line jump is outrageous. I could win an additional 2* if I had just waited for this sky high closing number.

I guess my lesson learned is wait as the chalk is getting bet bigtime this post season. A lot of people don't play baseball until the playoffs and they look at the money line like a football money line and bet accordingly. I'm costing myself serious money by taking dogs too early.

On the contrary, if I like pulbic chalk, bet right it immediately.

Agree with every thought you have on these games and hit the anti public plays... I too hit Col at +140 missing a +148 at one time... Missed ANA at +160 too. Now at +155.....

Not the greatest day as I lost with Anaheim which in hindsight was really dumb and the Scrubbies who looked awful at the plate.

2-2 +4* for the playoffs after turning a bright sunny day into an ugly night.

Adding:
Rockies +145 for 10* - Not getting off this trane while it's hot. Rockies have now won 15 of 16 and are my saving grace. I really like the pitching matchup today as well. Morales won @ San Diego vs. Peavy not long ago and has looked solid in September as the Rockies won all 5 of his starts.

Think we are safe.............

Hondo swung and missed twice last night as the Angels and Cubs failed to make contributions to The Cause, which sliced the still-beefy bankroll to 375 schofields.

Today, Mr. Aitch expects the Philatelists to get even by puttin' a lickin' on the Rockies. Ten units.

Been fadin this guy for years.....GO ROCKS!!

Morales was tough 9/11, see no reason why he cant do it again, Hopefully the sun comes out so Phils cant pick up his stuff, :mj07: GL

Adding Arizona +125 for 10* - Just got this number and think there is nice value in the home dog. I would make this line a pick'em, but surprisingly the oddsmakers have the D-Hacks a huge home dog. GO ARIZONA:00hour

Well nice day in the bases... too bad I had over 1,000 views in my football thread and it was a loser. 5-2 +41.5* for the playoffs for a 3-0 day. Still liking the dogs right now as Dice K is still inconsistent, but Escobar is still hurting... Carmona is worth the price tag as a Doggie IMO as Pettite is still getting rocked quite often.

I haven't played anything yet as I have to check Escobar's health and already like the Tribe. I think the Pinstripes are in monster trouble especially when they're favored on the road... Tribe crowd was vocal and Carmona is very tough IMO. GO Engines! Going to play Cleveland, but I believe the line is going up like a hot stock.

Angels is tough as the much better value is with the Angels, but their hurting and really unhealthy right now.

Done capping Friday's plays... IMO the Dogs look like monster value again.

Angels +145 for 10* - Sure Escobar struggled to end the season and sure Dice K is awesome. However, Dice K struggled down the stretch too much to have value as huge chalk vs. the Angels & Esocbar IMO. Escobar isn't 100%, but Angels @ +145 vs. Dice K has serious value IMO. I know Boston crushed Anaheim in game #1 and backing the Halos in game #2 is very difficult... however, Dice K has little value at this price and Angels in desparation mode as the doggie has a lot of value IMO.

Tribe +115 for 10* - One of my good friends said he hopes the Yankeses lose game #1 so he can put a monster bet on them in game #2... well, I don't agree. Carmona likes to keep the ball low in the strike zone and he only gave up 16 homers in 215 IP this season. Carmona also gave up just 61 walks this year and doesn't beat himself. Carmona has won his last 5 starts as well... Pettite is solid, but laying road chalk in a game where I give the Engines an advantage seems dumb. Cleveland has solid value tonight just like the D-Backs had Thursday night.

Adding Philly +160 for 10* - Phillies in desparation mode, but how you make Jimenez -170 chalk:shrug: Moyer is an experienced veteran and should be far more confident entering this matchup.

PJ,

I wouldn't call it jumping, but making Jimenez -170 chalk is ridiculous. I would make this number somewhere around -130... great value with the Phillies @ +160 IMO.

I'm also really liking Arizona +170... geez, these oddsmakers are making some of the chalk way too high which is fine with me.

Well, going to stick with the Underdogs for now. I'm looking at Yankees run line tomorrow for my first chalk play, but haven't pulled the trigger.

Arizona +180 for 10* - You have the Cubs coming home to some angry fans and if Arizona can get an early lead, I think they'll win today. A lot of pressure on the Cubs and I'm hoping they don't handle it well. Hill pitched fairly good late in the year, but he doesn't have value at this price.

Updated Record 6-3 +43.5* this post season.
System has been easy, take every Underdog. Nice start and hopefully I'll get a split today to increase my profit margin.

Updated Record 7-4 +51.5* this post season... thank you Arizona! Too bad the Phillies couldn't sack up tonight, but Colorado had made me a bundle and the far better value was with Philly tonight.

Sunday:
Boston -105 for 10* - Surprised to see this line drop, but going with the Red Sox. Manny's walkoff will most likely have a carry over affect to Sunday and Weaver has been hurting towards the end of the season. Add in the fact the entire Halos team has been injured, etc., I think getting Schilling at a pick'em is the smarter play.

Tribe +175 for 10* - I really tried to take the Yankees on the run line, but with Clemens being very questionable and with the Yankees feeling extreme pressure to win @ home, I'm going with the better value with the Tribe. Sure New York has the better shot at winning, but I would need to lay 3.5 times this amount on the Pinstripes.

I'll be rooting for sweeps! Please bring out your broomsticks road teams!

8-5 +51.5* for the post season.

Yankees finally awoke tonight. I felt fairly good until Westbrook fell apart. Going to be tough to not consider the Pinstripes tomorrow as Byrd hasn't been much lately. Only concern for Pinstripes is they used Joba a lot tonight and Wang did get crushed by Cleveland in game #1. Byrd is also a solid veteran so a very healthy line and I'll have to consider the Tribe.
