The wheel of Justice sure does turn very slowly here, and is much more focused on the rights of the accused than the rights of the victims

Wishing you the best.

I can't get my head around the concern for the violator. Happens all the time here too. The victim seems to be left behind. Keep up with your strong attitude.

I phoned crown counsel to confirm the time for court tomorrow and found out that their was no court date tomorrow because the douche bag had already pled NOT guilty.

I mean when the fuck were they going to notify the victims? :sadwave:

Long time no update, so here goes....

We'll start with some good news, mom is finished chemo and radiation and is now awaiting a cat scan. Assuming the tumor has shrunk like it should have then surgery will be next. Mom is doing well and in good spirits, REALLY glad to be done the treatment.

Not so good news....

The pedophile has not once but twice violated his conditions of release by going to the PUBLIC library, which is prohibited due to the fact that children under 16 can be reasonably expected to attend (ya think?):00x10

So he was picked up and held by the RCMP for the court to decide what to do with him the next day. A thinking person would conclude that a breach of release conditions would mean being held in custody until the trial right?? WRONG

The judge amended the conditions so that he could attended the library EVERY day they are open from 1-2pm but he has to check in with the head librarian and show her the conditions each time he visits.

Pretrial is in October with trial starting in December, and after the Christmas break should finish up the first week of January.

Forgot to add, that i've been back to work for 2 weeks now, it's going okay. Some organizational shifting going on and a sleeping night shift might be coming up. I think i'll go for it, it would be nice to be home everyday over the summer with the kids, not to mention I would be free to attend every trial date :toast:

Hate to hear this - hope everything by this time next year you won't even have to think about it and can move on.

I think so too, my only hesitation is that it is lesser pay, but money isn't everything right?

Money is nothing. Living life how you want is the most important thing. Some of the happiest people in the world have little money.

Good to hear your mom is doing better. Thinking of you still. Best of luck.

Aliyah's counselor spoke to us... She was going over boundaries with Aliyah and Aliyah brought up what happened with uncle. The counselor asked who crossed a boundary and she replied Uncle. The counselor told her that she didn't do anything wrong and asked if she thinks about what happened allot or have nightmares. Aliyah said not very much anymore.

I was so happy I almost cried :00hour

Almost a week in my new shift, and it is totally awesome. I am not used to coming home from and having any energy and the kids are ecstatic that I am here when they get home :0074

A good friend of ours who happens to be a photographer gave us a photo shoot last night I might post a couple when we get the finished product.

Very positive. Hopefully the justice system will prevail and your family can put the ordeal in the distant past with time.
