Too bad you can't try out the shot at home before going out. It will help you a lot if you can throw a few on the pattern since its all new to you. Also will help you to decide on what balls to take with you--assuming you throw a lot of different ones in league, that is.
Lots of teams always looking for subs---we take two full teams every year and its rare that we don't need at least one sub, so if you want to bowl the team event you should be able to.
Have a good trip and I'll look for your report when you get back.....:toast:

I only use one ball- I just got a Freakin' Frantic for Christmas. The one I was using before that was a Beast from 1997 I think. There is a chance I might get over there to maybe throw one game but between baseball, kids school night, etc I doubt it.

Well you know if I wear a light colored shirt I need to wear a cami under it or a light colored bra. See- it's like this- If I accidentally wear the wrong shirt with the wrong bra then it all goes to hell. Then my jeans won't match my shoes, because my shirt doesn't match, all because I wore the wrong bra with the wrong shirt, and I have all matching panties and bras, and then of course they won't match either, because I wore the wrong bra at the wrong time, and there will be turmoil beyond belief. DAMN BOOBS ANYHOW!! :mj07:

Would be my recommendation as well. Shit, when Nole travels for this event, he rents a uhaul and driver to bring all his equipment. He is that guy you see wheeling in 2 four ball bags......even for league night.

And FWIW Pittsburgh airport is a mess and has went way down hill after US Air pulled out many years ago. Its a ghost town in there and not many direct flights anymore.

If this is true Nole, I can only imagine how devastated you must have really been when missing a 9-iron for a year. What if a bag of bowling balls went missing, then what?????

Been using the same ball for 3 years now. ONE ball!

I take ONE ball to Nationals. Shoot 1700-1800 A/E every year and that's about it. Shot 757 in singles one year. Came in like 50th place. Check was about $700.00. That was pretty cool.

This league shot is such a joke. Anything reactive, crank, throw it out to the right and hope you carry.

Yeah, real tough!

Nationals is a wake up call for most. I sure get a kick out of watching the 220 average bowlers struggling to shoot 160!

PA Chicky, be patient and concentrate on spare making more than you ever have in your life!

I miss the days when you had to hit a board...those days are at Nationals every year.

Good luck!

On the course!
Never "gate check" a bag if you don't have to. They get thrown into the bulk cargo and are rarely secured. I know this from my many years with the airlines. If you check them normally they will be on your flight. Besides, with that short of a layover, how do you know you're even changing equipment? You may be taking the same plane tip Reno.

Mostly, quit freaking out over your shit and listen to your man because he's right woman. Christ!! Women. ........ always have to make shit harder than it has to be.

Have fun and play well. I hope you guys light up the lanes out there. Do they play the game where there is one red pin and if you get a strike when it's the had pin you win a free game? Or midnight bowling with a laser show?

Hope this helps,
FDC

No ours are 193 to 4039

I did get a chance to go over tonight and shoot the Reno pattern. First game 278, 2nd game 177, 3rd game 190. I'm happy with that. My 7 and 10 pins seems to be the same shot as league shot. I started at 16/6 and did well. The second game I monkeyed around with 22/12 but just couldn't get it out- kept hitting 14/15. So to finish that game and the third game I just moved around a bit to see how many adjustments I would need to make. Now I'm ready to leave- Thursday can get here any time now. :0074

For us "bowlers" I was speaking in board language. When you shoot 16/6 that means you stand at the 16th board and swing it out to the right and roll your ball over the 6th board on the lane. It should then come back into the pocket- which is the space between the 1 and 3 pin. If your ball isn't hitting the pocket the rule is "if it's light move right if it's heavy move left". Then you make adjustments by moving your feet on the boards and moving your mark (where you roll the ball).
