So I'm clear on this and understand your POV on this..

You run a dentistry practice right?

Allow me to throw this scenario to you - You go on vacation for a week and leave your one of your assistants to run the office while you are away, or have another dentist fill in for you while you are gone. While you are gone, one of your employees decides that since you aren't there, they can try to get away with a few things. You come back from your vacation and find out that they were verbally abusive, and explicitly discrimanatory to sex/race/religion of a patient that stopped by.
You're closing down your office and never practicing dentistry again, right?

No, he's making sure that employee never does that again under his watch by FIRING him/her.

Still a horrible analogy

Let me fix your analogy which is so ridiculous it's laughable.

Say I'm a pediatric dentist. I leave town and when I come back, a staff member, let's call her Suzie, comes to my office. She tells me she directly witnessed another staff member, Jenny, molesting a child when they were undergoing treatment during a sedation and she was alone in the room with them.

Instead of firing her and calling the police, I inform the practice owner, who never is really present at the office but is the legal owner. I do not contact the police. I also proclaim Jenny can no longer be alone in a treatment room with a child.

However, she is allowed, under my direct supervision, to be alone in a treatment room with sedated kids, despite our proclamation she is to not be.

Years later one child, who wasn't heavily sedated, reports to their parents they were molested. Then 10 more patients come forward.

You bet your fucking ass my license is gone for life and there would probably be criminal implications as well.

Of course you can pick a ridiculous analogy that makes no sense to try to make your point....or you can do one that's a bit more accurate that can disprove your point.

Not sure how to think of this myself, but going to throw this out there. How guilty (morally) are those who have been molested and never reported it once they become adults? Not 18-21 but in their late 20's or 30's. You see "Dear ABBIE" type letters all the time referring to this. The adult who was molested by her relative and now has kids of her own wondering what to do.
Just asking. I don't really know what my answer would be.

and sandusky was told not to come around anymore.. which was then ruled unenforcable, and years later Paterno gets shredded because of it.

bolded the point where your example is flawed with relation to the Paterno incident.

Why don't you reply to this?

You would have a completely different opinion if YOUR child was being abused after Paterno did nothing about it.

because that line right there is the very essence of what is wrong with the reaction to this and the destruction of a man's life. EMOTION.

Why should the rules change and suddently become different, why should logical thinking and reason change? Because suddenly it's got your emotions involved.

And it's been the rallying point for everyone jumping on the crush Paterno bandwagon. Nevermind the reports, nevermind the details of what actually happened - WHAT IF IT WAS MY KID.

If it WERE my kid, I'd be directing my energies at Sandusky - the one actually charged with doing these things.

But PATERNO COULD HAVE STOPPED IT FROM GOING ON FOR MANY MORE YEARS.

WTF???

Paterno could have prevented #4, 5, 6, 7, 8-25 from ever happening.

What are you even thinking about?

He's a homer, so delusional and biased by his emotional connection to Penn State that he fails to see what the everyone else in the free world sees with clarity.

Report: Joe Paterno Delayed Forwarding Sex Abuse Report to Authorities to Not 'Interfere With Their Weekends'

Former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno did not immediately forward authorities a witness' report of Jerry Sandusky sexually abusing a young boy because he didn't want to "interfere with their weekends," a deposition read in court revealed, according to ABC News.

Paterno did not appear in court on Friday, but his deposition was reportedly entered into the record. In it, the longtime Penn State head coach said that assistant coach Mike McQueary told him that he had seen Sandusky fondling a boy.

"He (McQueary) had seen a person, an older person, fondling a young boy," Paterno testified, according to ABC News. "I don't know what you would call it, but it was of a sexual nature. I didn't push Mike to describe it because he was already upset, but it was something inappropriate to a youngster.

"I didn't want to interfere with their weekends"

------------------------------------------------------------

It's all over the AP so you can find a link to your liking.

I'd hate to ruin their weekends, after all, the poor kid's weekend was already ruined when he was being sodomized.

I am amazed how many are up in arms about this incident but fail to discuss the issue as a whole.

The Vatican for years hid sexual abuse from many and covered it up. I would guess that many still attend church and give to the cause. Makes no sense to me but to each his own.

So if Joe Pa was removed then why hasn't the Pope been removed as well. I consider the Pope nothing but fucking pedophile who uses the cloth as his shield. To think he never knew what was going on is absurd. Still he is protected and he is still the POPE.

I am not saying what Joe Pa did was right but this issue is a problematic one everywhere.

Many young men have been raped and sodimized by preist etc. for years. Yet many turn a blind eye since it was the house GOD.

I guess giving the pork cross to a young man is considered GOD'S way.

Sandusky is just one of thousands if not 100's of thousands that sexually abuse young men and women each and every day.

Hopefully this man will have a broom stick rammed up his ass and killed in prison if found guilty. It would be one down and only 100 some thousand more to go.

The Pope is a lot of things but he's not a state employee in the United States.

I have to ? the move Paterno made in regard to his estate. Signing nearly everything over to his wife.

He knew what was about to happen and he knew the story was about to break. His legal team or whatever they are, can spin it however they like. He was protecting assets from a lawsuit.

If you had done nothing wrong then why make that move?

Lots of fishy shit going on.
