I have to ? the move Paterno made in regard to his estate. Signing nearly everything over to his wife.

He knew what was about to happen and he knew the story was about to break. His legal team or whatever they are, can spin it however they like. He was protecting assets from a lawsuit.

If you had done nothing wrong then why make that move?

Lots of fishy shit going on.

most people assume it's because after the grand jury stuff happened he did it to protect himself from civil suits.

marine isn't serious with his stance. He's just messing with everybody.

Quite the contrary. My stance stems from much more than this being Penn State or Paterno.

Go back and read the first post I made in this thread and you'll see exactly where my frustration lies.

My stance stems from a much "bigger picture" type arguement.

Because he is the most important, powerful figure in that town. The buck stops with him.

Allow me to widen the reasons on my displeasure of the crucification of Paterno:

Ray Lewis - history of violence, leading to murder charges. Currently still playing in the NFL. Making more now than before the problems

Kobe Bryant - brought up on charges of sexual assault/rape. Settles in civil, making more now than before.

Ben Rothlesburger - sexual assault. not once, but twice, even three times. Was the Steelers front office fired? Did they burn down the stadium? Nope, he makes more now than ever.

And people are puking up the morals because "the buck stops with Paterno"

Give me a break

You left out Lawrence Taylor  Who may be a better example for your argument. His proclivity for underage girls may go back to his playing days just as his cocaine habits did

I agree with that as well, been posting for years that Ray Lewis is piece of shit and has been the poster boy for the NFL for years. He may not have murdered those guys but he sure knows who did and has kept that info from the police. He is just as guilty,

Kobe is a an asshole but I think they could never prove rape.

Big Ben is a puke but comparing the Steelers front office involvement to Paterno is laughable.

If Steelers front office had a "Young women football seminar" and they allowed Big Ben to run the seminar and then he raped or sexually assaulted one then yes they would be fired.,

Joe Pa knew that there was a high probabilty that his friend liked boys and still allowed for him to coach kids on campus for a long time. If you can't see that is wrong then I think you are being obtuse to the situation. Your defense is "look at the others!" ALL HEADS SHOULD ROLL INCLUDING JOE PA!

My defense isn't "but everyone else does it.."
My question is - "why is it suddenly happening now with such extremity?"

Oh I think it is because it involved children who are defenseless. Not to say that the other people weren't defenseless. If those involved with the Penn St case and I mean all involved would have been more aggressive then maybe there would of been a limited victim toll.

I do understand your point though on how hypocritical we are. We have people here who think Ray Lewis is the greatest thing since sliced bread when in fact he has kept in the truth for years.

One thing I will say in Paterno's defense.. When you see a DA end up missing with briefcase or whatever washed up, I might wonder if I am next if I keep pushing it?

I can't believe his lawyer does such idiotic things like let him speak to the press/public. It reminds me of Charlie Day pretending to be a lawyer in It's Always Sunny.
