Not sure how it is so different Dr. Are there any doctors who have examed her saying she will regain her senses and come out of this state she is in?
the case is different-- the kid in Texas had a fatal muscle disease...decisions to end people on life support are made all the time....it is a common grief reaction for some parents/spouses to not allow this to happen....eventually someone has to step in or as said we will all be paying 95% of the GNP to respirator costs
to be honest, at first i was totally disgusted at the whole movement to get involved in Shiavo's situation...however the more i learn about it -- whether it be the snake of a "husband", court rulings based on hearsay when the guy giving the hearsay clearly has secondary gain, etc. etc. i am now pulled over to the side of the parents
also some of the things going on which i had not been previously aware of during the past 15 years which were mysteriously never presented to me by my newspaper swayed my opinion
one thing that was well hidden by the local newsrag -- there are different stories from different doctors as well -- probably depends which doctor was hired by which lawyer as is usually the case....
here is a little secret: most doctors go in it for the $$...when many of them find their profession does not reimburse like they thought, and their neighbor at the country club invites them on their yacht, some get a bit envious, become bitter and wind up with the abiltiy to say anything in a court of law for $$
Hopefully Edward the insulter/slanderer/lieyer you pick your synonym will hire me so I can make some money someday
