The only reason to take ARI is to make a play against the majority (public). That works about 50% of the time too, whether you want to believe that or not. Go ahead and take IND, MIN, and KC too while you're at it.

There is nothing documented that says teams off a bye week cover.

PIT's let down week was at home vs JAX last week and fresh in their minds not to let that happen again. They are a seasoned team that will not be looking ahead.

They have it all over ARI on both sides of the ball and in coaching.

You guys are crazy betting your money on Arizona.

I think I'll go pick out my hat now. :0008

All good points Jack. Those are the same points I was trying to make yet I get called a homer.

Obviously, I totally disagree with this and much of the other pro-Steelers posts. The line is right and it's that "low" for a reason... Pitt just isn't that good. I don't care if they held Seattle, Indy, Jacksonville, and Tennessee to low passing yards. Those stats do lie because all of those teams are garbage. Zona will throw on them. They got pounded by Baltimore and Houston (that game wasn't as close as the score indicated).

I am not one for arguing on games before they are played, but, i for one, can't wait for this Pitt team to be continually exposed by good teams. I'm already looking forward to the pounding the Pats will give them next week. But for now... You guys have talked me into an unusually large wager on Zona. I may be wrong, but not about Pitt. Arizona may just be that bad. I guess we will see.

Good luck to you on all of your other games that I am not against. :toast:

Ill give you Baltimore but not Houston. Im not sure a 10-10 game in the 4th quarter after Pitt got a FG blocked constitutes getting pounded. Yes I know they scored late on an INT that got called back but the bottom line is Pitt had a chance to tie the game with the ball late and didnt get it done. Schaub went for 138 yds. in the game. When was the last time that happened? Foster had a great game but he also had two runs that totaled over 75 yds of the 150 he got.

Again just pointing out misrepresentations on the facts.

What fact did I misrepresent?

I would hardly call "getting pounded" a fact.

Did you watch that game? I know you are a total homer, but did you not think Houston controlled 90% of that game. They pushed around the Steeler D line.

Again, just pointing out that Pittsburgh is overrated. You can throw as many stats at me as you like. It won't change the fact that this team is overvalued.

LOL@ total homer for having an opinion. You must be right about them being overrated. 6 games into a 16 game season a 4-2 team that just played in the SB last year is now all of a sudden overrated.

Yes I watched the game and I guess according to you if the Dline gets pushed around that is being dominated. Their defense also shut down the Shaub passing game and held a pretty good offense to 17 points so I hope they get dominated like that every week. Like I said Foster had two runs over 75 yds and 28 other for 75 yds so I guess that consitutes domination.

Again Good Luck buddy not trying to argue just offer a different perspective against the bias against the Steelers. Peace

Cool. Frankly, I just saw how fired up you got about someone else's homer call, so i threw it in there.

I still didn't misrepresent any facts. That is what got me fired up. I had and have my opinion. That's all any of this is before they hit the field.

And btw, I don't have any bias against the Steelers. I simply think the perception of them as compared to their actual team is a little out of whack. I know they were in the super bowl last year, but I am not talking about last year. If you look at past performance, being in last year's super bowl certainly means nothing.

This Steeler team will continue to get exposed in my opinion. If I'm wrong, so be it. I will lose some money betting against this team until expectations come in line with actual performance. If they impress and outperform, hopefully I will be off the overrated bandwagon without too much pain.

"the bunker"
i`m looking very hard at jacksonville...the ravens are my team...but this sets up very similarly to the ravens` early season flub vs tennessee....

coming off a high profile win at home...and going on the road to play a lesser light...the ravens just aren`t a mentally tough team....

i liked the way the jags hung in defensively vs the steelers...now you`re getting them at home +around 8/8.5?......

you know that the monday night game is the bailout game....and i doubt that many desperate gamblers deep in the hole will want to hitch their wagons to the jags.....

i see this line going higher by monday...

I am tempted on Arizona also, but Kolb has looked so bad, I don't think I can do it. He is just terrible. He looked absolutely pathetic against the hapless Vikings, at least 4 or 5 passes batted down at the line of scrimmage. Not sure that a week off can cure that. Philly got rid of him for reasons other than having Mike Vick. He is just not very good.

Another factor may come from the Cardinal Head Coach who is an old Steeler? I am too a Steelers fan and just do not feel comfortable with this line?

Almost sounds to easy? Good Luck Fellows,

G.J :0003

Sagarin Ratings would have this line at 7. If the books put up a 7, I bet they'd be getting even action on this game. There is no way in hell they expect even money on both sides with a number like 4.

Watching Kolb is very frustrating. This guy is nowhere near what many thought he would be.

So much for the vacation. Come to town take care of business and get ready for the Pats. Veteran team with an old defense and no line showed up today.

Oh and all those ex-Steeler coaches should get fired with all the info they have on the steelers and couldnt do anything.

How can anyone bet on a team with Porter and Haggans as starting outside LB's? They must be over 80 combined.
Steelers going on a little run now, peaking at the right time. Next 2 weeks will define their season and home playoff chances with NE and Baltimore. I think Arrians is finally realizing what he has with Brown, Wallace, and Sanders. If secondaries don't respect their speed they are toast. I'll be shocked if the total next week isn't over 50.

Good job outcast. You beat the cards. Reality check next week. Pitt blows. I will take it to my grave

Jord, Im not saying they dont lose to the Pats next week all I was saying is they wont lose to the Cardinals this week.

Your opinion is that they "blow" and you are entitled to that but that has nothing to do with the fact of what this thread was about.

Good Luck to ya.

Look at the game like this....

PIT may be looking ahead but not to next week. They are assuming that the Ravens win on Monday night. PIT cannot afford to fall 2 games behind the Ravens especially with NE and BAL on deck back to back. I see the Steelers totally CRUSHING Arizona on Sunday. They will not let them come up for air and they won't stop bringing it until the final gun.

:toast:

Instead of just watching the game with a hat bet on the line, I have talked myself into a much larger than normal bet on Pittsburgh -4.

Good luck, folks! :toast:

Well played Flacco-lover... :142smilie
