People around here are saying that the police officer was assaulted at some point early in the scuffle. Supposedly he had contusions, broken orbital socket, maybe broken jaw? Last night Anderson Cooper and Nelly both showed up in Ferguson. I did not hear Cooper mention these alleged injuries. Nor did any of the three "eyewitness" versions of what happened; you would think that would be a significant news item if it's true.
To answer MR LOCK's question, I think WW3 will bust out if the verdict is not guilty of ANY wrongdoing. They have pulled most all weapons from the shelves at area WalMarts and sporting goods stores. There's a Cabella's less than 10 miles from Ferguson and they are selling a lot of bullets.

Good point on lack of information/clarity on the original incident.
Both sides look bad in my opinion. Looting and giving the police a reason to be aggressive with the protests in the name of a young man who died does nothing. The police and authorities have obviously had missteps along the way almost daily. Tough to see much positive coming out of it any time soon.
seriously, its going to get bad if he is found not guilty. I feel sorry for the policeman and his family, his life is forever changed no matter what happens. I just hope Ferguson and surrounding counties have a good SWAT team when all hell breaks loose. You just thought Rodney King verdict was bad just wait
Should be pretty easy to hold a presser and get that information out and wrap up their investigation of the shooting then huh?
It will happen in time, relax, I am sure they are going to wait until the frenzy is over and some peace is restored before they do that...I believe the cops story, a cop is not going to kill some innocent kid if he did nothing wrong, I think the cop feared for his life and the kid was high on drugs :shrug:
Even if the facts prove that the officers response was justified it won't be enough for some folks. I would expect a huge riot to occur when the NOT guilty verdict has been confirmed.

They aren't saying anything, which is part of the problem in my mind. I understand they need to do a thorough 'investigation' from their end, but that needs to be expedited otherwise everything that has happened the last couple of nights will continue.
