I just changed the seats and springs in the old peerless.
(Doesn't drip nearly as much!)

FDC,
I'm curious as to what direction you thought this thread would take?

Please enlighten me. How are unions productive?
I find that many people are naturally inclined to believe whatever they are told and if an individual does not have any direct dealings with labor unions then I would hardly consider their opinion as even remotely informed on the subject.
Fair enough. I deal directly with them and you and I certainly have different opinions of their value and that's ok, I hope.
I also believe that in the right situation unions are invaluable and you couldn't do that job without them. I also am sure in certain situations they are an unnecessary expense.
My point is, blanket statements should be avoided.
Well bottlers have historically been union. Anheuser-Busch, Smirnoff, etcetera all used union bottlers.
Many American Playing Card manufacturers use union labor.
Many utility companies use or used union labors.
So depending on the circumstances many of the "Me Generation" can attribute their existence to unions.
You know, maybe Dad was a drinker, had a bad night at the card game and got home with full intention to beat the hell out of Mom, but the lights didn't work, luckily for Mom, who only had to put out to the drunken sot that only came home on Sunday nights.
That work for you?
Hope that helps,
FDC
Nope. Thought you would have some explanation for your stance. That is all gibberish.
Again, I didn't post the thread to hopefully provoke you or anyone else into providing any misguided insight into the subject.
Union labor builds all of our defense aircraft, weapons, etc... That is not the point. The point is that Labor Day is a celebration that has historical significance. Look it up. That is what the thread is about. Your opinions are meaningless to me. This is my last reply on the subject to you so if you wish to reply, go ahead and waste your time.
Hope that helps,
FDC
That's what I thought
Actually, I purposely put that line in there because I KNEW you would respond to it despite my warning that it would be a waste of time, yet you gladly wasted your and my time by responding, or so it would appear.
However, I put it there to see how willingly you would waste your own productive time posting on the subject of the counter productivity of others.
Us productive union members call that irony.
Hope this helps,
FDC
Oh, jeez. That was even worse.
Dude,
I am trying to tell you in a nice way that I don't give a shit what your opinion is on the matter because it is borne of ignorance.
Happy fucking labor day, move the fuck on.
Better?
Hope that helps,
FDC
I hardly think that Raymond or Homedog are an authority on any kind of intelligent social issues of present, or in the future, for that matter.
If this thread was about crayons or peanut butter, something of that nature, I would consider their opinion.

Nope.
I don't think anyone really gives a shit about your opinion.
Without unions people would not be working 8 hr days/40 hr weeks. We wouldn't have vacations. We wouldn't be getting OT for today. The bottom line is that people would be getting shit on all day long without unions. Now while skul might like that, most of us don't. I haven't been in a union for years but I respect the front line workers who stick together to maintain basic human rights in the workplace. I would never cross a picket line and will let those who do what I think of them till the day I die. But hey keep letting the elite take those rights away one by one while you bash your fellow working man. Some of you fucking disgust me.
