FDC and TU can't keep anything serious.

I hope it doesn't discourage you from answering questions.

Besides, I can see in the future and I promise you it doesn't. If you notice, I have asked the best questions so far and gotten the most answers, so what does that tell you? Besides, you are just pissed because I didn't ask about the Asian population.

Any Casinos?

Any Baseball?

How often do you eat fish?

Do they have beef?

How are the roads and drivers?

Yes, there are casinos, but they are pretty sad. I would say I eat fish probably 3 times a week. I fucking love me some ceviche. :00hour Yes, they have beef. A dude from Philly recently opened a burger shack up here that is damn tasty. The drivers are actually pretty good. The roads are fairly decent where they are paved, but there are plenty of places where they are not.

Why do you live in peru?

I came to Colombia in September of 2010 for what was a planned week vacation. When it was time to go back to Iowa City to face another winter, I found that I just couldn't get on the plane. I found some work I could do online and decided to see how long I could stay. I stayed there for nearly three months. I went to Ecuador next for a couple months, and I got to Peru in February of 2011. I have enjoyed the hell out of myself ever since. I had always wanted to surf since I was a little kid; it was one of my fondest wishes, and I have now accomplished that lifelong dream.

I miss some things, of course. I miss my friends and family the most. I miss disc golf. I miss going into a sports bar. I also really, really miss good beer. I would kill for a tasty IPA right about now. I also miss being able to see any movie I want in the theater in its intended language. For example, I really wanted to see The Hobbit in that new 48 frames-a-minute format, but I fucking hate dubbed movies. I hated dubbed foreign movies (but watched loads of subtitled movies) and never watched them in the States, and I refuse to watch movies in my native tongue that are dubbed in Spanish.

To sum things up: I live here because things are cheap, the weather is amazing and I can surf to my heart's content.

How would you compare it to Ecuador? We thought that sounded like a good place to retire to.

I'd say things are slightly cheaper here, but they are both wonderful places. People were super friendly in Ecuador! One of the best things there is that they use the US dollar as the currency, so you don't have to worry about the exchange rate changing. The Peru currency has strengthened against nearly every currency in the world since I have been here. I will say the food does seem to be generally better here in Peru than it was in Ecuador.

Finally caught up. That tired me out a bit. Feel free to keep them coming, but further answers will have to wait until tomorrow. If I missed any of your (serious) questions, then I apologize. Feel free to point it out or ask me again. :0008

Very interesting. You have no family in Peru. So do you have friends you can hang with or a girl friend? Without someone to share life adventures with I would think it would get old being alone. On the other hand maybe not.

I have lots of friends I can hang with. It's actually pretty tough to walk down the street without having to stop to have a conversation with someone I know. As far as girlfriends go, I try to stay away from attachments. In my experience, they make life really messy and inevitably lead to at least some degree of unhappiness for both parties.
