Playing some PLO at the WSOP right now. Dealers are horrible. Never seen any in my life this bad. Wow. Can't figure pots, don't make change, players have to read the hands, players have to dictate the action. Wow unreal!

Jack, they were so bad. I don't think I have ever complained about a dealer.

I ran bad and played bad. Quit $400 loser.

I'll get them next time. Back to Bg for two weeks on Friday.

Forgot to mention too there is a timed rake. $7 every 30 minutes. Joke because they dealt so slowly. Seriously about 6-8 hands every half hour. Horrible.

Also, Ted Forrest was there playing. From High Stakes Poker and wsop bracelets to a $500 buyin.

That can't be fun like that.

Ted Forrest must be broke too. What a glamorous life those guys lead. SMH.

Have fun in BG.

I got out yesterday to see all my BG friends that play poker. We call one of the guys "Chef", and he was cooking a gourmet meal. It was incredible. Filet mignon, grilled chicken, gourmet sauces to go over each, and a fantastic blueberry cobbler to finish it off. Outstanding.

Anyway, the game is 1/2 NL holdem. It's uncapped with most buying in for 100-300. Mississippi straddle applies as well as double, triple, quadruple straddles if people want to do them and for any amount. The game can be the loosest of loose to the tightest of tight depending on the players. There's also a tournament that starts later in the early evening.

I bought in for $100 and decided I was going to play solid and aggressive. I made a button three-bet to $20 and had 3 callers. I held J❤️Q❤️, and the flop was K J 2 rainbow. Small blind donks out $15, call, call, and I squeezed all-in for a total of $72. Might seem kind of dumb, but I was actually hoping it was a great spot for a squeeze, and it was as I got one contemplative fold followed by two quick folds. 3 bets are strong especially in this game, and they all gave me credit for bigger holdings, so I was off to a nice start.

I won a few more pots and was up to a stack of $205 when I looked down at two black Kings. There was a mid position straddle of $10 by the guy who runs the game who is a maniac, one caller, and I pumped it up to $40 on the button. Maniac calls, and we are heads up. Flop is 6♣️7♣️ 2♥️. He led all-in for a little less than me. I called right away, and he never showed but called for a 9 which did not come, my Kings held, so now I'm quickly up to a stack of $400 and change. I never know 100% how much money I have because I like large towers of red rather than uniform stacks of $100.

I continued to play solidly (mostly folding), and aggressively playing my button and the hijack. I looked down at A♠️4♠️ on the button and a limped pot. I made it $10 and had 3 callers. The flop was 9♥️ 4♦️ 5♦️. I bet $20 into a checked pot and had 2 callers. The turn brings a 2♠️ adding a gutshot to my outs. I bet $30, call, and call. The river was a 10♣️. First position moves all in for his last $70 very fast. I whisper immediately to my neighbor on the right it's a bluff. Problem is, I can only beat a bluff with my little pair. The other player is terrible, and she thinks for almost a full minute and makes a disheartened fold. I go thru the hand in my head. My first and immediate read is that he has a missed flush draw. I think anything else he would have raised me at least on the turn. I calculate the pot, and it's a good pot. I slide forward a stack of reds, he says, "I missed" and I table my little pair for the win. The player who folded obviously had the best hand, so I'm happy she vacated the pot.

I had AA a few rounds later in the UTG position. I decided to just call, and nobody raised  Action was 6 ways when the flop came 10♠️ 9♠️ 4♥️. I checked, and maniac horrible MAWW bets $10. I call, and the turn is a 9♥️. We are heads up, and she bets $30. I'm kicking myself, but I call anyway. The river is the 3♦️. I check, and she hurriedly bets $60 and stares at the board. I'm really not sure what I'm up against, but I convince myself that the turn 9 helped me, so I make a crying call, she doesn't turn over, so I show my bullets because I know they're good now. She claimed flopping 2 pair which means she had 10 4, but idk if she really had that or not. Doesn't really matter since I won the pot 😃

I continued to play and had high point of $620 up after this hand.

I was on the button, and it limped around to me, so I popped it to $11 with J♥️9♠️. I get two callers, and the flop is J♠️ 3♠️ 9❤️. Bingo! I bet $20 after it was checked to me, and I get two callers. Turn is the 4♦️. Check, check, and I bet $40. Call and a fold, so I'm heads-up. I'm praying for no ♠️ on the river when the 2♣️ comes. My opponent checks again, and I'm positive I'm good. I have been working on my value bets bc this is a spot where I would normally check it back and be content with the pot. However, I just know in my head that I'm good and that he has top pair or a busted flush draw. I slide out 3 green beans, he calls fast, I table my two pair, and he disgustedly tables his KJ which is no good. Boom! Nice pot and ship it to me!

I went a little card dead after I lost with QQ to my own hand of 65. It was only 8:30, but I decided to book my win, and there were a ton of people waiting to play anyway, so I cashed out. I racked up my chips, threw the dealer an extra $1, and my total was mysteriously $650. As I wrote before, I usually don't know my exact total, and I didn't know again here. The dealer gives me 5 Benjies, 5 $20s, and a Grant  I want to tip him out a little anyway, so I tell him to keep the Grant and just give me two more $20s.

Great food, fun time with all my BG poker buddies, and a profit. It was a good night any way u look at it.

Go for the royal or hold the flush?

Of course I have to go for it.

Lost $250 at poker after a high of up $400 when I should have quit. Lost $100 more on VP.

Back to BG yesterday when I won $300 playing Holdem. Ran well, played better. Bluffed correctly, and laid down correctly.

Today in BG I played PLO. Super volatile game; much more so than Holdem. I only bought in for $200. Got my stack up to $600 relatively soon, held steady, lost some back, then had a big hand when I flopped a set of 3s and dodged a flush and straight draw. Next big hand, I called a $65 preflop raise with KK55, flopped a set on a K96 rainbow board. All 5 players check, turn brings the second heart which is a 2❤️. Early position bets $300, I shove, get another caller for less, and I hold. I quit shortly after that with a stack of $1425 putting me at a $1225 winner 😃

In BG another week.

Got out for a quick session this evening. The usual Sunday game was packed, so I sat down at the 7 deep second/feeder table and bought in for $200. Had some standard pots that I won, and in particular I targeted a very loose/laggy player that I knew well. He really sent a lot of money my way today. A few of the hands (I will call him BTD=Bad Teeth Doug) follow.

I have two black 8s and raise to $7 preflop. I bet $12 on the 567 rainbow flop. I check behind after the turn Q, and I bet $40 on the 4 river. BTD is in the whole way and mucks after I showdown the second nuts.

UTG I wake up with two Red kings. There is a $6 button straddle, so I just call. 6 players see a flop of 69K♠️ rainbow. Checked around. Turn is the K♣️. I lead for $20 and get two callers. River is a 10 ❤️. I lead for $50 and get a call and a call. Quads are obviously good against pocket 3s  and the rivered 78 straight. Weird way to play Kings initially, but I know a preflop raise doesn't get me nearly this big of a pot.

I look down at 8❤️7❤️ on the button. I crank it up to $11 and get 3 callers. I make a $20 continuation bet on the 836 rainbow flop. 1 caller and heads up. The turn brings a 7, so I have an unlikely two pair (after I raised preflop). I fire $50, and I get a pained call. The river Q is checked to me, and something smells a little fishy, so I check back and table my 2 pair. It's good, and the guy is muttering about his missed draws. I've really been working on my value bets, but I'm content to win this pot, and I didn't feel I could stand a raise in this spot.

I Limp early with Q♥️10♥️. Raised to $10, 3 players call.
Flop is Q♣️J♣️ 9❤️. I lead for $15 on that sweet flop of top pair and the open ended straight draw. BTD and one other guy call.
Turn is a 2♦️. I bet $40, and BTD throws in the call, and the other guy folds. The river is the 8♦️. BTD checks out of turn, and I fire 3 green beans. He insta-calls and throws down his Q♦️8♠️ which of course is no good to the second nut straight. I was ahead the whole way. He rebuys $200 more.

Two hands later I limp with Q♦️10♦️. Raised to $10 and along with 3 other people including BTD, I call.
Flop is A♦️J♦️K♣️ Bazinga!!
Checked around. Turn brings a 2♣️. I bet $30, and BTD calls to make it heads up. The river is a 4♥️. BTD checks, I bet three green beans again, and he says, "you can't have Q10 again! I call!" He smashed his A❤️9❤️ into the table with his call while I'm rolling over the flopped Broadway dead nuts. He rebuys $200 more.

I have A♥️10♦️ and pump it up to $15 on the button. BTD and two others call, and we see a flop of 10♣️2♣️10♠️. Checked around. Turn is the 4♦️. I bet $30, and only BTD calls. The river brings a 9♦️. I fire another $75, BTD says "Queen fucking 10 again?" I shake my head no, he says, "CALL!" I roll over my trips, and he puts his head on his arms and shows his pocket 8s, and I scoop the chips.

What a gift BTD was tonight.

I racked up shortly after I took this picture, and I left on my session high. The game was good, but really, what more can I expect? I'm booking a win and hitting the door.

Great day today in every way. I'm truly blessed to have the awesome family I have, the great friends I can share time with, and the occasional winning session.

Travel day

Travel day

Tuesday, it was time to head back to sunny Las Vegas. We had a great trip home, but back to reality.

We had to go to the insurance agent, see my parents, drop off the borrowed car, see my granny, and get food. All was going well until the storms rolled in. Huge, torrential downpour that made our 1 hour trip to the airport turn into a 1:45 minute trip. This was complicated by our need to get gasoline in the rental during rush hour Nashville when there are wrecks all around. We ended up turning in the car without filling up since we are now afraid of missing the plane. That only cost 10 gallons x $9 a gallon

TSA security was easy for a change, so we arrived to the gate with 15 minutes to spare. The plane was not full, so that's great news. The bad news is a kicking, crying, screaming toddler is right behind me. She is awake the entire flight kicking my seat and banging her sippy cup on my seat which splashes me a few times with apple juice. The flight ended up arriving 15 minutes early, but that only meant we had to sit on the Tarmac 15 minutes extra waiting for the other plane to push back.

Our first piece of luggage was the first off the conveyer belt :0008 But our last piece was the second to last off

I called for an ?ber, and he responded and was there fast. Problem was the elevators to level 2M were malfunctioning. It's still over 100, and it's hot, and I'm climbing steps lugging heavy luggage. The ?ber driver doesn't even offer to help get the luggage in the car (they usually do; I guess it's not required), and he has a small ass Jetta.

The drive home is uneventful and fast and I find my keys right away. Problem is a wall of heat hits me as I open the apartment door. My AC is completely out, and the thermostat reads over max which is 85. It's after 10pm, B has to work in the am, and we can't sleep here. More bad news, for some reason I have no comps tonight, so my cheapest best room is $33 at the Rio. Off to the Rio we go. I hit the hay with B and gamble none.

Up early today to take B to work. The drive is fast and uneventful, and she is on time. I leave a message about our AC, and I'm back at the Rio now waiting to see if it will be fixed or if I'm going to have to get a room for tonight again. I did stop by the poker room, so that's what I'm doing now. I doubled up my 3rd hand with Aces, and now I'm cruising.

Cashed out $500 from my $200 buyin after 2 hours. Most of the money left and the old men nits were piling in. Time to go.

Won $50 playing DDB. I'm not the quad master like Jack.

I had out a $20 to pay this bill thinking that would pay for it and be a generous tip. Nope  what a ripoff.

I had a high of $405 up and finished the session up $319 after making a bad fold with queens. Still, a nice time and a winner, and I didn't blow it back on the tables. I also earned a free buffet, and it was very good. I loved the duck.

Played a $360+$40 50k guarantee tourney today at the Wynn. I got a min cash which profited me $300 and change. I'm playing well, and I rocked a short stack a lot of the tourney bc I was just so card dead. I see some guys that are so bad that just pick up premium hands repeatedly. It must be very nice. I'm going to bink one of these soon for some nice coin. I'm so, so close.

172 entries today, and I finished 17th.

I'm so lazy for not writing in here more than I do. Living here is such an adventure, and for the most part I thoroughly enjoy it. It's storming right now like it does back at home. Big thunderstorm, and I'm sure it is flooding. Lots of rain (for Las Vegas) this year.

Work is ok. I have had some very nice patients, and j have recieved a few Daisy awards for doing a good job. I love helping people. I love people in general. I'm very blessed to have the opportunities that I do. Hopefully I will have some interesting stuff to post soon. I think I have some pics to put up after this.
