Tuesday, my friend Anthony wanted to hang out and play poker. We had to go early bc he works overnight at the Mirage, and I had to work Tuesday night. He wanted to play at Caesars, so I agreed even though it has been brutal to me lately. I sat down at a table full of people who had played all night. In order, the stack sizes were
1) old man (more on him later) $200
2) 40ish Asian lady $1000
3) pretty Asian 30is $500
4) Middle Eastern tourist $400
5) me $200
6) aggrotard local maniac who I have played with before $1200
7) local young "pro" $300
8) mid 40s fat white lady who I'm told by the 1 seat is a regular and a luck box $1600
9) older nit $200
Lots of money for a 1/2 game, and therefore it played a whole lot bigger
I played fairly tight and was the victim of bad players catching cards a few times. I lost my $200 buyin. I stood up and said I would be back. The Asian lady left a winner, the old man took her seat, and I sat in the 1. I took a little time and re bought for $120. About 4 hands in, I am dealt two red aces. I make it 17 to go, and aggrotard calls me. I check the a 10 5 rainbow flop. Aggro bets the deuce turn for $60, I go all in, and boom, double up. I win a couple of other hands, and I'm sitting on $260.
I get dealt 10 10 UTG and call the $2. Several calls to the 1 seat who makes it $12. I call, the 4 calls, and the 8 calls. Flop is a 10 5 with two hearts (BOOM!!!). The 1 leads for $50, and out of turn, the 8 makes it $100. Action goes back to me, and i nonchalantly call the $50. 4 folds, and the 8 is obligated to complete her action and raise to $100. The 1 calls and I shove for $125 more. The 8 folds instantly (I'm quite sure she had a flush draw), and the 1 calls and guesses my hand out loud, "a 10?" I say no and throw my set face up, he has AK, and the next two cards don't matter and I scoop the $600 plus pot. I got up to around $650, lost a little back, and cashed a $325 winner. Anthony left a $125 winner.
The old man in the 1 seat is 86 years old. He came to vegas in the 60s, and he told me he was a pit boss for many years. He epitomizes the grumpy old man often berating other players for slow play or the dealers for inefficiently running the game. The 6 seat went broke after calling off the 4s all in bet of $700 with a flush draw

the 8 also went bust after mixing it up and trying to run over the table. We all got a piece of her. They both should have quit big winners and played too long. It's a real art knowing when to leave a poker game.
I worked that night and felt horrible. Running to the bathroom constantly and later a fever
Thankfully, I was off Wednesday and got to feeling way better. I felt good enough in fact to head out Thursday morning to play again. I grinded out a 5 hour session and $29 win. I then lost $300 at BJ, won $300 at roulette, and then I lost another $100 at Bj.
Here's a phone charger my mom sent to me.
It works awesomely if you are in the market.
My patients are horrible tonight, so maybe more later.
