a tad pricey on the tranny flush (I do my own but around here I can get it done for about $100-$115), did you check other places? good price for brake flush.

and ask them what type of fluid they put in there... for $139 it better be good stuff (maybe that is why it's pricey). Make sure they don't use cheap tranny fluid. It could mess your your tranny. Amsoil is pretty good. Also, make sure they COMPLETELY FLUSH it out!!! most critical!

hence the high cost for the tranny flush, is the car still under warranty? Unless you really want to do it there jack, I would call a few local mechanics and quote them. I'm 99% sure you'll get a better deal, but it comes down to do you trust anyone there (good service?). If you don't get it done at the dealer, but if you know a local mechanic with a good rep and it's cheaper, might be worth saving a few bucks???

good luck

Most dealership "service specials" are exactly that. When you pay your bill and wonder why your 2 hole feels like it has been violated on the way out the door, it's for good reason.
Those brake flush jobs pretty much consist of drawing the fluid out of the master cylinder with a suction gun, and filling it back up with a $2.00 bottle of fresh fluid. Done deal.
Ask your guy at the dealer if they drop the transmission pan and replace the filter along with "flushing" your transmission. Not sure the year of your Caddy, but almost all GM cars have a replacable trans filter in the pan. In my opinion, the "flush" part of it is totaly not necessary. I have been in this line of work for 17 years.

Here is the ultimate key with dealerships fellas. Simply ask the service writer how their technicians are paid. Meaning, are they paid hourly, or flat rate. If it is flat rate, RUN, don't walk....find another place to work on your car. Flat rate mechanics are the biggest crooks in the auto repair industry. They get paid solely on the amount of work they do.....period. Those 30K, 60K,90K service intervals that most owners manuals outline and all dealerships push on you are nothing more than a glorified $300 oil change. Oh, you get a new air and fuel filter too. The tech probably gets 2.5 hr. pay to do these and can get it done in less than an hour. There are SO MANY ways a dealer will screw you and make you feel good about it. Hell I could go on for days, but I'll leave it at that.

Ask around your area Jack. Find a good independent shop to work on your car. Stay the hell away from dealerships. Only go there for warranty work or recalls.
