Mully...
Don't get here much anymore but this is close to home for me and I truly wish you the best!!
My suggestion would be AA immediately. Millions have been where you are and have found help from day one. You'll be with good people like yourself ...people who have been there ..done that and more. BEST!

Mully, Please go back to your first post in this thread and read all of yours posts in order. You need to do this.
"As long as I continue to feel better and enjoy life, I don't see why I would need another one. Thanks to all of those who gave support."
A pretty smart and healthy guy posted that in February, 2007. Get my email from Jack if you want to chat about giving up an addiction.
Eddie

Dude, let me hook you up with a phone call to Old School. Please!
Not tonight, when you are not having a buzz going on.
Mully will be okay, he just bounced off the track. I know this. I know this for lots of reasons and Mully is the main reason.

Hey Mully...
I've never been addicted to anything in my life. I do have an addictive personality though. I started taking Xanax a few months ago to get through a tough time after a girl I loved dearly broke up with me. I found myself taking the Xanax more and more. I started thinking, "holy shit, I'm addicted to this stuff. I need to stop." So I quit right then and there. I started to feel real anxiety just a day or two later. It kept getting worse. But I refused to give in. I kept thinking, "I can do this. I AM STRONGER THAN THE DRUG." And guess what? I was. I haven't had one in a month and feel no need to take one to get through the day. It's in the past now.
YOU CAN DO IT TOO!
If you don't quit, your liver will start to fail and become diseased. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's just the real fact of it. PERIOD. It was not made to overcome heavy alcohol abuse. When it goes, so will you. You can't survive without it. Cirrhosis of the Liver is the 12th leading cause of death and alcohol abuse is one of the primary factors of the disease.
Life is too precious to let alcohol win over you. LIFE IS TOO PRECIOUS MULLY. It's a gift and you do mean something in this world. Make up your mind to stop and get the help you need. There are plenty of programs out there to help you.
