You knew it was just too much to ask that Agent stay out of a thread that has nothing to do with him![]()
Sponge:
The supports I was talking about are for the deck, I want the hot tub to be sink in the deck so the top is level with the floor of the deck.
Gonna build the deck around the hot tub.
You ever check out those Therma Spa tubs? They are beautiful but pricey.
Better ask the mail order bride, she may hate hot tubs and you never knew it.
Hate to see you do all that work for nothing.

I am a structural engineer and I can confirm that Raymond's recommendation for a 6" thick slab is certainly sufficient for a hot tub. The only suggestion that I would give would be to thicken the slab at the perimeter to be 12" deep by 8" wide with a continuous #4 bar centered in the thicked portion, 3" clear from the soil. I would also agree with Raymond that the slab should have a layer of 6X6 W1.4XW1.4 welded wire mesh reinforcing which should be supported during the pour so that it is in the top 1/3 of the slab.I have been thinking of doing this myself but i would put some footings in for the tub. A six inch slab is nice but down the road you may have some problems.
The Boys--How can you reduce something that is only 1 inch long? Ha Ha just a joke--How are the cigars--had a great Cuban Maduro today.

it's called a monolithic pourThanks Judge, I'll follow that advice, believe me when I say when I build this thing it ain't coming apart.
I have no freaking idea what the ?bottom and top channels?, ?rebate arm? and ?locking plate? are in this picture. Must be some kind of futuristic forming system for robots.it's called a monolithic pour
i remember from my days selling home improvements

Jeez Boys, did you really have to go Divergence Theorem on us and what the hell does the change of the density within a region of space have anything to do with a concrete pad for a hot tub?Make sure you check my formula below, this should help:
