Oh but Mike Martz, or Trestman were the shit huh? Dalton doesn't have the tools? Since when brother? Come on man.

Dalton does not have the physical tools of cutler. There is simply no comparison.

Martz seemed like an excellent offensive coach.

Trest is another story

Basically, thos thread is 2 bears fans supporting their guy. I'd probably do the same.

Ciao :toast:

Just to be clear, there are times when I'm upset with Cutler. I'm not defending him as much as I'm attacking Smith and his bullshit.

Sorry Jack, IMHO Flacco is not that good of a QB. He belongs in the middle to lower tier of the pack. Now as for the team and coaches around him, they're top notch and a big reason for all of that success.

Having said that, I like the Ravens and I like their HC and Flacco. Much more so than the Skins....

You don't have to be sorry for having a flawed opinion on the subject. :0008

Romo is the over-rated but all this is for another thread.

Martz put Cutler in horrible situations and tried to implement a system that lent itself to far too many 7 step drops without the benefit of play action or a stout o line or speedy receivers.

I totally understand that. Smith is a polarizing figure based on him telling it like HE sees it. Reminds me of you on this site. I'm a fan of both.

I knew you'd come back with that :142smilie

All I'm going to say about that is the numbers speak for themselves.....

Agreed, the number of playoff wins does tell the story:)

Exactly. Look at WINS and PLAYOFF WINS.

If Flacco was a Cowboy and Romo was a Raven your opinion would be completely opposite. Mine wouldn't.

Nah, it wouldn't....

I'm looking at it from an individual effort. Completion percentage, QB rating, TD's, and other similar variables.

Wins, Playoff wins, etc. are more team related variables.

My position does not change....

I have grown to like Flacco as he is a competitor and does play hard. He may not be the most physically gifted of qbs but his arm strength and will to win are excellent.

Individual stats are a result of the team around them as well.

I'll take the QB that's a proven WINNER who never missed a start. :0008

The other night I was out with friends watching monday night game and afterwards they bring in a guy to play free "bullshit bingo". I'd never played but I did and it was basically free bingo with prizes given away such as a free appetizer or free shots etc... i noticed that quite a few people showed up specifically to play as they all seemed to enjoy it. The DJ said several times that "I shouldn't have to tell adults this, but you can only play one card at a time". At one point I went to the head and there are two men in their late 50's I'm guessing, hiding four extra cards and cheating at free bingo! Wtf? I quietly pointed out to them that it was a shitty thing to do and they should be ashamed of themselves. They laughed until I asked if they taught their kids to cheat, if they're going to find that acceptable behaviour when they get cheated out of something. They of course responded with typical dumbass shit and got mad at me and agreed like idiots. Surprisingly, one of them won. When he went up for his prize a woman accused him of cheating and pointed out the extra cards. He then laughed, lied about it and said they were old, collected his prize and left the bar shortly thereafter. That's theft. That's displaying no heart. Playing the game as hard as you can and still not finding success is so far removed from being heartless it isn't even funny.

Dude, lighten the heck up. You were at a bar with 50+ year old dudes playing bingo for shots at 11pm on a Monday night. Life just shouldn't be very serious at that point. I would have never thought of calling the guys out or even more so asking them if they taught their kids to cheat. A bar, 50+year old men, Monday night around 11pm and you're worried about them cheating on Bingo.

Dude, I wasn't worried about it and I was not mean about it nor nasty to the guys in any way. I wasn't playing at the time so it was more of that the guy was sitting right next to me and everyone else was playing by the rules and it just struck me as shitty, that's it. The location or business shouldn't matter.
In hindsight, you're probably right in that I shouldn't have said anything. I am positive there have been many more times in my life where I would have been better served to not say anything. I've even had this same internal dialogue many times in the past. There have been several instances where I've had a positive influence as well. Proper or improper, it's just my nature. To me it's a matter of ethics and morals. It's the blatant disregard for the rest of all the other people there to violate a social moral that is one of the earliest life lessons taught us, and for such a meaningless prize. In all honesty dude, the thought of how sorry that is truly saddens and upsets me. As much as I wished it wouldn't sometimes, I can't help it.
