per your previous post, I have no political agenda at all. I dont care who or what anyone votes for. the only thing I have a problem with is living in a place where murdering just continues to rise and not much is done about it. I dont care if changing laws wouldnt completely fix the problem but doing something and possibly getting some result is a lot better than doing nothing and seeing it stay as it is or get worse.
about your guns, I am sure you have them to protect yourself and your family, and I have no problem witht hat, but like you said, if there were a spur of the moment instance, you wouldnt be prepared. and I have to think that this is the case for a large majority of people who own guns. these things are locked away in a safe usually and from what some people say, the clips are not even with the guns in some cases. so if someone comes crashing through your door, with a weapon, there would hardly be time to run to a safe, enter the combination, get the gun, find the clips, load the gun, find the intruder again and take action. all while worry about where your family is and trying to get them somewhere safe, calling 911, and whatever else. who knows how effective youd be after not firing the thing in 20 years and all the wild emotions youd be having in the heat of the moment.
also, and this is a big one, think about this. people own all these guns which they lock away and have to protect themselves, thats great. but what is more likely to happen? something happens in your life that makes you extremely angry or having an intruder in your home threaten your life. i completely get the point that people want to protect themselves, but there are a lot of people with anger issues who own weapons who by having access to them can act on a spur of the moment rage and kill someone.
now you might say if they were so angry that theyd use a knife or rope or something else and it wouldnt matter and that may very well be true but how many times have you been angry and then realized in the middle of it, shit, im overreacting? with a gun all it takes is one squeeze of the trigger. if you just rage and punch someone, there is a MUCH MUCH greater chance this person does not die. even with an attack with something else, there is a greater chance of a non fatal injury and the chance to run away. you cant run away from a bullet.
not attacking your stance just giving some examples based on what you said is your situation.
and i`m a japanese fighter pilot...
haven't met many deer that need to be taken out by by semi-automatics.
I don't really have a stance. I agree with pretty much everything you said.
I think the only way I would be prepared to take on an aggressive intruder would be to have a loaded gun on my night stand and one on my desk in my office. No way I would consider having loaded guns sitting around.
So what's the point of having them?
Honestly speaking, the only reason I think I would ever think of using one would be in a premeditated manner. :scared
Or if I thought someone was coming to "get me".
The 357 was bought as an investment, the 270 was given to me, the little Rugar was to carry if I ever thought I need to, the 22 rifle is really my son's from when we lived in the country and the other I don't remember how I got.

Also, mixes in dance moves and lyrics of drunk girls puking in dentists washrooms after eating to much sushii

Tim mcveigh didn't use a gun
Guns don't kill people, people kill people...
Again I have no idea what the right answers are to this question but we need to try and figure this out. Its clear that we need more mental health care for our citizens.
There also has to be some sort of psychological screening and weapons training before you are allowed to purchase a gun.
Yeah this is just not about CT.
Its about the fact we have been going through these events almost once every two months, with smaller incidents like the portland mall shooting every few weeks.
We need to try and figure something out because we should not live in a society where children are not safe in kindergarten.
What does this have to do with you trying to make it sound like everyone is demanding banning all guns?
I honestly do not will work in stopping shit like this from happening, all I know is that we have to try and do something. An open debate about it would be a nice start without people like you trying to put words into everyones mouths.
All I know is other countries have stricter gun laws and they do not have the amount of problems we do.
You have no idea what the answer is but you have no problem making numerous posts of you shoving your "solutions" down everyone's throat. Open debate means you "respectfully" express your point of view with arguments based on facts, not supposition.
Hope that helps,
FDC
Thanks for the unsolicited editorial on the mental make up of society according to you. Apparently the keys to the social conscience are kept in your breast pocket, thanks Doctor Seuss.
no, marine was "ready to jump all over" Cie on the other page when Cie said the guy used the rifle to do the shooting.
and he provided something that wasnt even correct. the police reported there were 4 weapons, as I already pointed out when he was giving his press conference less than an hour ago.
did you not do the same thing a few pages ago?
your hypocrisy is unrivaled.
