that's all they have around here

can't stand them either.

i tolerate Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Ravens games but after the season is over, they won't see me until next year. the first game of the year is kinda cool too because it's like a reunion over there :mj06:

Texas Roadhouse isn't too bad and I'm gonna hit that in about an hour.

I can handle Olive Garden too.

We have them all but that's about all I can handle.

What about you guys?

I don't have time to read all of the responses, but you live in Columbus, IN... Not many options down there.

Hooters sucks...

Hooters sucks...

They have definitely gotten much worse on a sharp decline. I used to like to go to hooters with my buddies. I've seen as as many "hot" girls there as I've seen "ugly" ducklings. Every time I go in there I swear the food gets worse, the beer is the only good thing there and it's overpriced. I haven't been to one in years. I've been to many of them in different states too:

Lincoln, Nebraska (good looking girls - not great)
Omaha, Nebraska (good looking girls - not great)
Orlando, Florida (Decent looking girls, all of them were high on drugs)
Fairfax, Virginia (The bartender was smoking hot and friendly, didn't pay much attention to the rest)
Washington D.C. (Gross, just gross - made me want to puke)
Baltimore, Maryland (Gross, just gross - made me want to puke)
Atlantic City, New Jersey (This one I'll give a pass, really great looking girls here)
Dallas, Texas (Nothing fascinating here)

Probably why I haven't been to one in years. Terrible food + overpriced drinks + bad scenery = no business from me..[

Longhorns is great, never had a bad steak from them.

Like Texas Roadhouse too...

I used to like Outback, but they have gone down hill...

Olive Garden sucks, they don't sell Veal anymore...

only have 3 chain in town; MacDonalds, subway, and kentucky fried chicken. of course we are a dry county and city and you cannot buy or serve any alcohal at all. takes away big profits not being able to serve booze. also expensive for me having to drive 15 miles one way to buy a beer in a 7/11.

Of course i'm not suggesting that you do it, but I believe I would off myself if I had to live there.

ah,the I-95 corridor....d.c. and the city that (b)reads....

they should shitcan waterboarding and just take al qaeda detainees out to a local chain restaurant for lunch(preferably applebees)....

but i guess that would also be considered cruel and unusual punishment...

Balls Deep
microwave ovens: tip of iceberg ... listened to a nutritionist talk on food, and then researched his contentions ... found this article, some amazing facts to prove we should never use a microwave again ...

The Hidden Hazards Of Microwave Cooking (click for article)

DECREASE IN FOOD VALUE

Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritive value of all foods researched. The following are the most important findings:

1. A decrease in the bioavailability [capability of the body to utilize the nutriment] of B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics in all foods;

2. A loss of 60-90% of the vital energy field content of all tested foods. Steam or heat up on stove.

4. A destruction of the nutritive value of nucleoproteins in meats.

5. A marked acceleration of structural disintegration in all foods.

Even steaming vegetables causes them to lose some nutritional value. Nothing is as good as eating them raw. Not the easiest though.

I guess you could call this mini chain as believe they now have 5
-Rafferties--hard to beat for consistency--my fav blackened prime rib sandwich--same cut and size as plate but $4 less :)

--do not eat there a lot anymore because of restaurant next door-Beijings

Love their seafood on buffet. Took a friend and family there for Christmas last night--Had crab legs-frog legs--cracked stone crab claws-shrimp bout 5 diff ways--plus the normal buffett--
Bill for 7 people came to $87 and change and that included 3 beers and one Margarita.

I don't see how they do it.

Favorite Chains:

Living in Atlanta, you could eat at a different restaurant every day for a year and still not hit them all.

Here are a couple chains we frequent:

Outback - their salads are incredible, ahi tuna, and strip

Maggiano's - family style with friends

Houston's - wife's favorite

We hit these places about once every two months.

Oh, and then Jalisco's which is a Mexican family owned restaurant that is a meet and greet for everyone once a week. Neat seeing the firends and their kids all together.../.

We don't eat at the Applebee's or TGIF level... Do eat Fresh Market once a week...

Our Hooters food is so/so. Being a double college town the ladies are decent.
For a chain our Outback Is very good.
WE have a Mex joint called Mannies it's very good.
And another Steak and King Crab house called Fright House that is great.
And Big Al's Pizza top of the line good.

Almost all chains here as well.

Cracker-barrel, Bob Evans, Montana Mike's, Applebees, O'Charleys are what we have to choose from. There is a BBQ joint that's not bad and my local bar has great food specials every day, so I hang out at Ro's.

Speaking of pizza we have at least 11 pizza places here in town... ridiculous. Domino's, Little Caesers and Gotta be Grinders closed and no Donato's (my favorite). Pizza King, Papa John's, Mozzi's Pizza (x2), Jack's Pizza, Mad Dog's Pizza, Pizza Hut, Chicago's Pizza, That Fun Place and Papa Murphy's. We have a new Italian place in downtown called Little Italy. Supposed to have some killer Brooklyn style pizza but have not made it over there yet.

We had three Mexican places but one closed. They are damn good though.

Zoobie's sports bar was nice but it closed and the Brandywine Steakhouse was the bomb, but my friends closed it a few years back.
