This is my number one issue....I am a huge dog lover. If that happened to my dog....there is no question, none...zip...zero I would have killed (or come close) that farmer......no question about it.

And I know I am going to get a lot of sh** for this but why does it seem that every American has a gun (I have lived in the US before and I know everyone doesn't but you know what I mean)....and why is the farmer walking around with a shot-gun anyway:shrug: And if this were in Canada that farmer would be in jail. Same thing happened here two years ago, dog was waiting to get pet, there were three witnesses, dog came up on the guys property and the owner said "he was in danger"...grabbed a rock and killed the dog. He ended up serving 9 months in prison. And in that case the dog's owner went "balistic" and would have killed the guy if people didn't hold him back.

Why is it in the US that when something takes place on "your property" it seems you can get away with almost anything:shrug:

I feel so bad for your brother, I don't know how he can not kill the farmer.....I know I would just flip out:SIB

He actually served 1 year and 9 months.......and had to pay a large sum of money (can't remember how much). I am not saying Canada is some sort of utopia, but when it comes to a story like the one in this thread, you will serve jail time for killing some defenseless dog. But honestly it wouldn't make a difference to me, I'd be serving life in prison for sure, I would have killed that farmer. Maybe not in front of the two cops, but within a month I would have hunted him down and killed him, no doubt in my mind. Nobody hurts my dogs, but kill one of em in front of me, forget about it, you better blow my head off as well, because I am going to kill you.

And please don't get me wrong I love the US, but some of your laws are just mind numbing...How can it be "ok" to do what that farmer did:shrug:

Dude, we have guns in Canada, we just know who owns them !!!! I have a 9mm in my bedroom locked in a safe, which was pretty easy to aquire legally. We just don't go around shoot'n shit up, killin dogs and people 'cuz were bored. Yes there are a few retards around here that do stupid shit, but at least our laws don't let them get away with it. I think Kickserv was just trying to say the animal rights and trespassing in the US need to be looked at. Trespassing on someones property should not give them the right to kill you, but if it's the law in Georgia that you can shoot whoever walks up and rings your door bell, we'll then that is just fuk'd up and I'm never leaving Canada again.... We have free speech, the hottest women, wicked beer, sports gambling, full nudity stripper clubs (non of that topless only shit), GSP, and great hockey.
I don't hate the US, I just hate the skids living there that think they are better than us...

Jack, sorry about your brothers dog ....... He should just try to sue, revenge may land him in jail.

Well said Deuce...I knew somebody would come on here and reply with those kind of statements:mj10:

I lived in the US for seven years, so I knew what to expect......but I don't want this thread to go in that direction......but I can tell ya one thing, no way in hell you can live here in Canada and walk around with a loaded shotgun with two cops next to ya :mj07: I mean gimmie a break!

moving on......

Jack....I am so sorry for your brother, I have nothing to do with this story but I am unable to even concentrate on anything since I read this thread. I don't know how I am going to sleep, this story is really getting to me. Simply horrible:nooo:

I am devastated and I have nothing to do with it, I don't know how your brother is even functioning, I feel so bad for him.

I so wish I was in the Atlanta area, I would love to pay a visit to that farm.

I think if it went to court police would change their story about dog not being aggressive toward them--as to my thinking they might be more liable for letting farmer carry weapon than farmer himself.

I would have to make farmer pay but couldn't take it out on his animals--and would be prime suspect to anything that occurred in future so that would rule out a lot of things.

I think best route might be-- making farmer think you were going to do something--stop in front of his house and take a few pics with him watching--follow him on occasion in car and let him know your following him--show up at places he goes.

The mental anquish of fear over long term is better than short term phyisical harm and no consequences for brother.

The absolute best thing you or your brother could do, besides kidnapping & torturing this ********** for weeks on end, would be to notify PETA and/or any local animal rights groups.

These people have methods that will ruin this farmers life & get this some media attention.

One thing I have to ask is this...for this to be a 140 Doberman seems a bit out of whack. As a doberman owner myself, a large male would top out at best 100 lbs, especially for a show quality Dobie. Also if it was a show dog it wouldn't have a tall, but only a little stump sense they are docked at birth for show dogs.

This truly is a sad sad story. I know for sure I wouldn't have be able to control myself. I would have came back that night & killed this guy. It almost like killing one's child. Revenge is called for here in this situation...how far he takes it is his call.

no doubt your brother was in the wrong, my question is why did he not have his dog on a leash? especially when he was on someone else's property trespassing. I know the property owner was wrong to murder his dog and the cops could careless that it happened. This is a very sad situation and I believe if it happened to me I would somehow get revenge:mj03:

very sorry for what your brother has had to go through

yes, that's much more rational... you clearly don't know much about owning property and trespassers. Even though trespassing, they have all kinds of rights.

Horrible story.

Jack, post the c*cksucker's name and address so every MadJack's member can send this dirtbag 20 letters letting him know what a piece of shit he is. Perfectly legal and harrassment is probably the only legal action available.

I can't even believe this.

here in ontario, your brother would have been able to sue, trespassing or not, was his action reasonable even though the dog was trespassing? that is the issue here.

again, sorry for his loss
